A Brazilian footballer star was sent off in a high-stakes match after accidentally scissor-kicking an opponent in the face.
Cruciuma forward Felipe Vizeu was given his marching orders in the first half of his side’s 2-0 Tuesday defeat by International in Serie A – amid a relegation scrap with six games to go.
The former wonderkid, who was once reportedly a target for Chelsea, swung his leg for the ball after a free kick into the box.
But instead of connecting with his intended target, Vizeu’s boot connected with the unfortunate face of Internacional defender Agustin Rogel.
Rogel crumpled to the turf clutching his face as Vizeu went down as well and it wasn’t long before the forward was dismissed.

Vizeu was reportedly once a target for Chelsea after impressing early in his career
Cruciuma had been 1-0 down at the time and with 10 men could not find a way back in the second half, being sunk 2-0 by high-flying Internacional.
Vizeu’s early-career form attracted attention from some of Europe’s biggest clubs. He was a target for Chelsea, Juventus, Lazio, Fiorentina, and Borussia Dortmund, according to reports in Brazil.
And this is not the first time that Vizeu has been involved in a viral incident.
The 10-time Brazil U20s international clashed with Flamengo team-mate Rhodolfo during a 2017 win over Corinthians.
They threw their heads towards one another during the club’s 3-0 victory. And 31-year-old centre back Rhodolfo had to then be held back by his team-mate and goalkeeper Diego Alves before the situation spilled even further over.
According to Twitter user Gregor Vasconcelos, while he was being restrained by Alves, Rhodolfo screamed in anger ‘I’m gonna get him outside’.
However, it didn’t stop there. Just moments later, Vizeu netted a fine third goal for the hosts before fanning the flames once again.
As he wheeled off to celebrate in front of the Flamengo supporters, he could be seen making the middle-finger gesture to Rhodolfo.
