Watch What Happens Live: Luann de Lesseps responds to criticism from ex-husband Tom D’Agostino

Luann de Lesseps during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live on Sunday responded to recent criticism from her ex-husband Tom D’Agostino.

Virtual fans Megan and Hanna from Kansas City posed a question to Luann, 58, about Tom, 56, while she was appearing on the Bravo chat show with Sonja Morgan, 59.

‘What did you think of Tom D’Agostino telling the Daily Mail that it was very difficult to be with you because there are two sides of you and being a celebrity is too important to you,’ the pair asked Luann.

‘I hadn’t heard that,’ admitted show host Andy Cohen, 55.

‘Well, I mean, let’s call him out. Because what was he doing on my show? What was he doing dating Ramona [Singer] and Sonja before me?,’ Luann said.

‘Let’s call it what it is,’ she added.

Tom told DailyMail.com in May that he ‘still loves’ his ex-wife Luann despite being engaged to Danielle Rollins.

‘I’m engaged to someone very elegant, very quiet: the complete opposite [of Luann],’ Tom told DailyMail.com at the Drag Story Hour event at the Shanghai bar at Hutong restaurant.

‘We got engaged last year. She’s very Southern, very ladylike,’ he continued.

Tom popped the question to Danielle on New Year’s eve 2021 – the date that would have been his sixth wedding anniversary with Luann, from whom he split in August 2017 after less than a year of marriage.

And while Tom may believe that his current relationship is a better fit for him than his romance with Luann, he still haD a few nice things to say about his former spouse.

‘I love Luann. I wouldn’t have married her if I didn’t… [although] they say love blind,’ he joked.

‘Stepping back and looking at it, it was a lot of fun-we had a lot of fun while it lasted.’

As for why his ex-wife has yet to find her own match, Tom said he believes her celebrity status may well be turning off potential suitors – explaining that he feels she has changed since reaching the dizzying heights of fame.

”There’s not enough oxygen in the room,’ he said. ‘It’s very, very difficult to be with a woman with two sides to her. The original Luann came from Connecticut. She was an amazing, strong person but then the celebrity got to her.’

Tom claimed that Luann had initially agreed to quit the reality show in the early stages of their relationship – however that never happened, and instead the cameras continued rolling as they tied the knot on New Year’s Eve, and were there capture every moment as their romance fell apart.

In her wedding speech, Luann told their 250 guests who attended the wedding held in West Palm Beach: ‘When Tom walks into a room my heart skips a beat- I’m so proud to be Tom’s wife.’

Months before their wedding Luann moved into Tom’s $1.5million Upper East Side apartment.

Luann divorced her first husband Count Alexander de Lesseps in 2009. The former couple share two children Victoria, 28, and Noel, 27.

Having held the title of Countess during her marriage, Luann forfeited her aristocratic title when she married Tom in 2016.
