Wayne Rooney ‘re-follows Jamie Vardy on Instagram who SNUBS former England captain’s olive branch’

Last October it was reported that Jamie Vardy unfollowed the former England captain on social media amid the beginning of the WAG war between their wives.

And now, Wayne Rooney, 34, is said to have re-followed the Leicester City player, 33, on Instagram, but his gesture appears to have been snubbed as Jamie still doesn’t follow Wayne back.

As the feud between their respective wives Rebekah, 38, and Coleen, 34, gears up to head to court, Jamie reportedly ‘won’t entertain the olive branch until this is resolved.’

A source told The Sun: ‘It speaks volumes that the husbands haven’t got involved in this messy affair.

‘Wayne even thought they could be above it and for the sake of football and the “player’s union” could remain civil.

‘Jamie’s clearly standing up for his wife and won’t entertain the olive branch until this is resolved.’

MailOnline has contacted Wayne Rooney and Jamie Vardy’s representatives for comment.

In October The Sun reported Jamie was so upset with the way things had played out between the Rebekah and her fellow WAG that he removed the Wayne from his Instagram and Twitter accounts.

A source told the publication at the time: ‘Jamie has always got on well with Wayne, but he won’t stand for having his wife hung out to dry in public like this.

The insider added that footballer Jamie was standing by his wife ‘100 per cent’ as she launched a fight to prove her innocence against claims that she sold false stories about Coleen.

A friend said: ‘He’s totally behind Becky and furious with the Rooneys for the way they have gone about this.

‘He and Wayne always got on well and he likes him. But he has made his feelings clear. Cutting him off on social media is a totally deliberate snub.’

A spokesperson for Vardy denied he had unfollowed Rooney when contacted by MailOnline for comment at the time.

Rebekah – who was heavily pregnant at the time – cut her family holiday in Dubai short after Coleen’s dramatic accusation on social media, which has enthralled Britain in the so-called ‘war of the WAGs.’

Coleen is now said to have a ‘blank cheque ready’ and to not be afraid to pay whatever is needed, if Becky refuses to back down, as the WAGS head to court.

The fresh report comes amid the upcoming £1million court case in which Coleen, accused Rebekah of leaking private information to the press.

A source told The Sun: ‘Legal fees could easily spiral into seven figures, it’s only going to intensify.

According to the insider, after spending 18 months to find out who was behind the leaks, the Liverpudlian beauty will not back down.

‘She would obviously prefer this came to an end sooner rather than later but that will only happen if Becky backs down.

‘If she won’t, she’s got no qualms about going all the way and has a blank cheque ready.’
