Simpson said her tryst with the former England captain was ‘only a bit of harmless fun’, but admitted they probably would have ‘ended up s******g’ had it not been for the police stopping her car as he drove them home from a bar.
Rooney, 31, was arrested while driving Simpson’s Volkswagen Beetle after a night out in the upmarket Cheshire town of Wilmslow, not far from Rooney’s home.
Simpson had travelled more than 20 miles from her home in Irlam to get to the bar, where regulars said they had not seen her drinking before.
She left her job as a property development company sales manager in Greater Manchester shortly after the scandal broke, but it is unclear what, if any, new role she has taken up.

Speaking to MailOnline after Rooney’s arrest, she said the decision for him to drive them home was ‘stupid on reflection’, but added: ‘He didn’t seem to be over the limit.’
She said of Rooney’s husband Coleen: ‘She can’t blame him for anything that happened with me because nothing did really although we would have ended up s******g no doubt. What we did was only a bit of harmless fun.’
‘It was a kiss and cuddle, nothing more.’
It later emerged that police only stopped the car because of a fault £4 brake light, not due to Rooney’s driving.
