Can you fit the best of China into a two-week trip? Oriental specialist Wendy Wu Tours has put together a 16-day Wonders Of China tour which starts in Beijing, ends in Shanghai and includes Xian, the Yangtze river, Guilin and Yangshuo.
According to the operator, the itinerary includes ‘the best of China’s natural and man-made wonders, from the Great Wall to the mighty Yangtze river. This is a journey through China’s iconic sights ancient and modern from fast-paced cities to relaxing rural countryside’.
En route, travellers will be able to delve into the imperial treasures of Beijing; experience the Terracotta Warriors; relax with a cruise along the Li River; discover the peaceful Yangshuo countryside and enjoy Shanghai.
Although this is the physically easiest tour that Wendy Wu offers, it still requires a reasonable level of fitness. There will be sightseeing on foot for short and extended periods of time; on the Great Wall some of the walking will be at an incline; while on the Yangtze River cruise and on the Li River you will be getting on and off the boats.
The package, which costs from £2,890pp, includes return flights, all accommodation, meals, sightseeing, entrance fees, transportation and transfers and visa fees for UK and EU passport-holders. Travellers will also have the services of an English-speaking escort and local guides.
