Wolves forward Raul Jimenez has insisted that he is happy at Wolves and has no immediate plans to leave, regardless of whether tor not the club qualify for the Champions league.

The Mexican has been linked with a transfer in the summer, his performances this season having caught the eye of both Manchester United and Real Madrid.

The 28-year-old managed 17 goals while on loan with Wolves last term and has continued to his good for since making the move permanent, managing 22 goals in 44 appearances in all competitions this season.

Jimenez signed a four-year deal when he because the club’s £30m record signing last summer and says he is only focused on his future at Molineux.     

Quizzed on his future during a Facebook Live session, the Mexican star said: ‘I have a contract until 2023.

‘It’s not that we have to qualify for the Champions League in order to stay. I’m good [here], happy with Wolves, doing important things – me as well as the whole team.

‘We’ve been trying our best since the start of last season. We’ve qualified for the Europa League, now we’re fighting for a Champions League spot.

‘And it’s the big motivation to keep growing as a player and getting into the Champions League is always a plus that satisfies you and keeps you thinking about big things.’ 

Wolves were halfway through their Europa League last-16 tie against Olympiacos when the football season was paused due to the outbreak of coronavirus.

Jimenez’s team had drawn 1-1 away to the Greek side but are yet to play the return leg at Molineaux.
