We spend Christmas Day completely naked while our guests wear clothes

A husband and wife duo have admitted to spending Christmas day completely in the nude, while their guests remain fully clothed. 

Helen Berriman and her husband Simon revealed that they celebrate Christmas totally naked. 

The couple from Bromley, decorate the tree and even cook their turkey while stark naked.  

Helen said that they will have a completely normal Christmas from exchanging gifts, playing party games and raising a glass, however her and Simon will be totally in the nude, ‘with the exception of our cracker hats.’ 

She said: ‘We do have to crank the heating up, though.’

Helen was introduced to Simon’s naturist lifestyle after they got chatting on Facebook in 2015, having known each other at school – and now relishes in never having to pick out an outfit to wear.

But it took until 2020 before she was brave enough to join him.

However, now she has parted ways with her clothes, she admits that she wouldn’t go back and even quit her job at an opticians to write for a naturist magazine.

Helen said: ‘We’re looking forward to another naked Christmas this year.

‘Some people do look at us like we’re completely mad, especially when they find out that we host Christmas. But we’re all about accepting your body and everybody feeling comfortable.’

Helen’s teenage daughter, 15, and her mother, 75, accept the couple’s lifestyle and now don’t think twice when the answer the door in all of their glory.   

Helen admitted: ‘My daughter did tell me I’d gone weird at first – now she is very supportive of me, although I don’t think she’s keen to join suit.

Helen and Simon host Christmas dinner and do everything from exchanging presents to cooking a feast completely in the nude 

‘We have had some people make unkind comments, suggesting that we’re swingers or sexualising it, but it’s really not how it is.’

And although now they have no qualms about exchanging gifts in the buff or cooking a turkey in the nude, Helen was initially hesitant about embracing Simon’s naturist ways.  

‘He told me he preferred to live a clothing-optional lifestyle,’ she said.

Although now Helen is completely comfortable to have lost her clothes, she was hesitant to embrace the nudist lifestyle at first

‘I told him that was fine by me, but he had to wear clothes when he was around the house and I didn’t want any part of it.

‘After a while he started allowing himself to be “caught” naked around the house – “forgetting” I’d be home early, and still walking around naked.

‘I was more concerned as to whether it bothered my daughter, but when I asked her, she said it really didn’t bother her at all.’

It was a ‘reverse life painting event’ – where a clothed model is painted by nude artists – that Helen embraced the nudist lifestyle.

Helen has said that since embracing the naturalist lifestyle it has even helped her 15-year-old daughter form a healthy attitude to body image 

Helen said: ‘Afterwards while I was having a cup of tea with everyone, I was so relaxed, and I realised they were just a lovely, normal bunch of people.

‘I decided to whip my dress off too, and amazingly nothing bad happened. Nobody was sick and nobody was judging.

‘I realised I’d wasted 20 years of my life worrying about what people think I should be wearing. Everyone has scars and stretchmarks, it’s just nice not to have to worry about covering them up.

‘It’s even helped my daughter form a healthy attitude to body image too. She did think it was strange to start with, and so did my mum.’
