She is best known for being the longest-serving weather girl on ITV, after delivering the forecast for the channel for a staggering 24 years.
But after turning her attentions elsewhere, Sian Lloyd has found herself in a spot of bother after attempting to race a colleague in her wellies, only to fall and break her wrist in the process.
Taking to Twitter, the presenter, 59, detailed her injury to her social media followers and revealed she is now having to have surgery as a result.
Oops: Sian Lloyd, 59, has broken her wrist after falling over while running in wellies and has revealed she now needs surgery while sharing a photo from her hospital bed to Twitter
Sian had fallen on Saturday and several days later on Wednesday shared a photo of herself to her page that saw her sitting on her hospital bed with her arm bandaged up.
She had taken the opportunity to thank hospital staff at both Tewkesbury and Cheltenham where she had been treated, before revealing that she is set to have surgery on her wrist to correct the damage.
After many concerned fans flocked to Sian’s Twitter account to send her their well-wishes, she explained that she is set to have a ‘titanium plate inserted’ into her wrist following her fall.
And it seems the injury may have ongoing consequences for her working commitments, as Sian admitted she will now have to ‘cancel filming’ for several upcoming projects she had scheduled in for the coming months.

Replying to a fan who had asked whether she is still presenting the weather, Sian replied: ‘Now working for American TV.Travelling the world. Though this broken wrist will mean cancelling quite a lot of filming in the near future. Sob.’
Sian had presented the weather for ITV, starting out on the channel in 1990 before stepping down nearly two decades later in 2014.
She had also appeared on the second series of I’m A Celebrity in 2003 and found herself the first to be eliminated on the reality show. Sian later appeared on Total Wipeout in 2010.
Most recently, fans saw Sian return to their screens to star in a celebrity version of Channel 4’s First Dates.
Looking for love: Sian had appeared on Channel 4’s celebrity version of First Dates last year, just months after her split from ex-husband Jonathan Ashman
She had appeared on the dating series last year and had opened up about her divorce from ex-husband and motor racing entrepreneur Jonathan Ashman.
They had separated after eight years together, having tied the knot in 2007, and Sian was seen admitting to her date that she hadn’t known why her ex had chosen to leave her.
Her appearance came just months after their split, with Sian confessing: ‘I was married for eight years, it was the happiest eight years of my life – no question of it. We had the most amazing marriage and one day he just left. I’ve only been divorced for a few months so it’s still very, very raw.’
‘When someone has just left you and you haven’t even argued and you’re great together and everyone else thinks you’re the happiest couple on earth and you think you’re part of the happiest couple on earth and your whole world has gone then what you’re going to do, you’re going to question everything in life.’
All over: She and the motor racing entrepreuner had been married for eight years, before divorcing, with Sian admitting the split was still ‘very raw’ during her appearance on First Dates
The star admitted that throughout her life she has always been in relationship and had ‘struggled’ with being alone following her divorce.
In July, Sian had recalled her appearance on First Dates in an interview with the Daily Express and admitted that her decision to take part in the show had been ‘too soon’ after her split.
She said: ‘ I probably did that programme about six months too soon. I think I was still licking my wounds and was quite emotional about it.’
Although, Sian did admit that time has been a great ‘healer’ for her.
