Laura Kukulovski tipped the scales at 94kg in February 2021 and said she’d gained ‘quite a bit of weight’ during her third pregnancy
Laura had a caesarean that quickly healed but noticed her body ‘wasn’t the same as it was’ compared to her previous two pregnancies.
‘My belly was just a big bulge and no matter what I did I just could not get rid of it,’ she said.
She later found out she had diastasis recti and didn’t believe anything could reverse the damage, but then she discovered the online program and was inspired to follow it and study fitness.
She did easy walks and postpartum home workouts that lasted between 15-30 minutes. She also followed a meal plan that was made up of recipes like lasagne and casseroles made with wholemeal, fresh and clean ingredients.
‘I used to hate food because it would make me feel yucky and lazy now I look forward for what to try next,’ she said
Today Laura weighs 58.5kg and is proud of what she has achieved
Today Laura weighs 58.5kg but like anyone she had a number of setbacks during her weight loss journey.
‘I’m only human but everyday is a new chance to start fresh and put that setback down to a learning curve,’ she said.
She also feels significantly less bloated and has more energy, and her overall outlook on food has transformed.
‘I used to hate food because it would make me feel yucky and lazy now I look forward to what I will try next,’ she said.
‘My favourite snacks and meals would be the paprika Parmesan chips, Thai beef salad, rice paper rolls and the cinnamon scrolls.’
For those wanting to lose weight, Laura suggested taking it ‘one day at a time’ and believing in yourself rather than letting your thoughts get the better of you.
‘If I could give any advice it would be to not put so much pressure and stress on yourself,’ she said.
‘I found the more I worried and stressed, the less my measurements and the scales changed. Once I let go and started enjoying my journey, that’s when I really saw the results.’
