‘Welcome to Amsterdam’: Ajax fans set off fireworks outside Juventus hotel in early hours as Cristiano Ronaldo and Co are given rude awakening

Cristiano Ronaldo and his Juventus team-mates were given a unique welcome to Amsterdam ahead of their Champions League quarter-final on Wednesday evening.
A group of Ajax fans are believed to have set off a brilliant fireworks display outside the Serie A giants’ hotel in a bid to disrupt their sleep.
Posting a 30-second video of the incident to their profile, @FSideNL added the caption: ‘Welcome to Amsterdam’.

The fans also carried out a similar exercise before Ajax played Real Madrid in the last-16
The pyrotechnics were let off above Van der Valk Hotel-Amstel, where the Juventus first-team squad are staying before the match at Johan Cruyff Arena.
It is not the first time they have done this, as they planned a similar stunt before facing Real Madrid in the last-16 clash in March.
Although that leg ended 2-1 to the Spaniards, a 4-1 victory at the Bernabeu would ensure Ajax set up a tie against Juventus.
