While some speculated that a guest host may fill in for Wendy when new shows return October 18, a representative for the show clarified that she ‘will host’ on the 18th, per Page Six.

The news comes just one day after the show’s Twitter and Instagram unveiled a new teaser trailer for Season 13 of the syndicated talk show.

Two weeks ago, Wendy’s talk show Instagram announced she was diagnosed with a breakthrough case of COVID-19.

‘While continuing her health evaluations, Wendy has tested positive for a breakthrough case of COVID-19,’ a rep for the show said in the statement.

‘To allow Wendy time to quarantine and fully recover and to ensure that our production abides by all SAG/AFTRA and DGA COVID protocols, we expect to begin the 13th season of ‘The Wendy Williams Show’ on Monday, October 4th,’ the statement concluded.

There have also been reports that Williams has been hospitalized for psychiatric issues, while sources claim she was, ‘drinking every day, even while filming the show.

‘Everyone is an enabler because they don’t want to lose their job. They see it, they know it, they smelled the liquor,’ an unnamed source told The Sun.

She had previously checked herself into a sober home in 2019 following her divorce from Kevin Hunter, but that was the only time she was sober.

‘Wendy drinks every day and the only time she was sober was when she was at the sober house,’ the source continued.

While her staffers are ‘worried’ about her, ‘no one is ever going to speak up because they don’t want to lose their jobs.’

‘She’s an alcoholic. A bad one. She doesn’t need a talk show, she needs help,’ the source added.
