Wendy Williams’ son has pleaded not guilty to punching his father during a heated row, while the talk show host and her estranged husband presented a united front outside a New Jersey court on Tuesday.
The former couple had been expected to join Kevin Jr, 18, in the courtroom together but were told they did not need to join the teen inside as the case was continued, TMZ reports.
Kevin Jr appeared in New Jersey on Tuesday morning where a prosecutor said he wanted more time to ‘review factors in the case’.
It is understood Wendy, 54, and her ex Kevin Hunter remained together in a car outside the court, TMZ reports.
The father and son allegedly got into a fight at 10pm on May 21 at Krauszer’s convenience store in West Orange, New Jersey, near to Wendy’s mansion.
Kevin Jr allegedly smacked the 46-year-old in the nose in order to free himself from his father’s headlock.

Kevin Hunter Sr was said to have told officers he was hit by his son and was ‘bleeding’, according to police documents obtained by DailyMail.com.
The father denied striking his son and reported that he only wrestled with the teen after being struck in the face.
A bystander was said to have intervened in the scuffle, police records state.
The police report states an officer arrived to ‘a family dispute in progress and upon arrival…. separated them’.
It also included the transcript of Wendy’s two 911 calls in which she described how her son called her after the alleged attack.
Kevin Jr was arrested for domestic violence simple assault and transported to the police station where he was charged.
A source reportedly told TMZ in May the father and son have been at odds over Kevin Sr repeatedly telling junior he needed to stop relying on Wendy for handouts.

But despite the feud, tensions between the trio have reportedly eased leading to the estranged couple both supporting Kevin Jr, according to TMZ.
Kevin Sr reportedly did not want to press charges against his son, but because it is a domestic incident police are continuing with the case.
Wendy reportedly filed for divorce shortly after it was revealed Kevin Sr’s mistress Sharina Hudson had given birth to a baby girl.
She also fired him as her manager and producer on The Wendy Williams Show in the wake of the revelation her husband’s decade-long affair with the massage therapist.

But Hunter and Williams are still reportedly ‘friends’ even as their 28-year relationship is in the process of officially ending.
A friend told TMZ: ‘There’s still love between us, regardless of the divorce.’
After discovering the affair was still going on and discovering the 36-year-old gave birth to her husband’s child, Williams checked into a luxury detox and rehab facility in Delray Beach, Florida.
In December 2018, Wendy suspected the two were still carrying on and hired a private investigator to follow Hunter.
She had reportedly plunged into depression while recovering from a shoulder injury and began drinking heavily and taking pills.
