At first, the tweet was mostly ignored, with few people liking or retweeting it.

Then on Wednesday morning Wendy’s clapped back saying: ‘If we were going to diss another restaurant we’d have more than zero likes and RTs after 13 hours.’

Roughly 10 minutes after Wendy’s posted the tweet, it had been liked more than 2,000 times and retweeted more than 700 times.

Seven hours later, it now has 7,000 retweets and nearly 30,000 likes as of 4pm while the Carl’s Jr.’s tweet has 69 retweets and 447 likes.

This is not the first time Wendy’s has used Twitter to shade its competitors.

The account also likes to poke fun at Twitter users as well.
