Premier League footballer Michail Antonio has tonight put out a social media appeal to track down a cyclist seen on CCTV appearing to slash at car tyres in London – one of which belonged to the £70,000-a-week star.

West Ham’s recent four-goal hero took to Instagram tonight to warn others to ‘watch-out’ after his vehicle was targeted in Wapping, East London.

The 30-year-old striker also shared CCTV footage showing a cyclist appearing to target the tyres of two vehicles.

The video is time-stamped with Tuesday’s date and a time of 2.40am – three days after Antonio scored all four goals in his side’s 4-0 win against Norwich on Saturday

It begins with the cyclist, wearing a blue Nike bag, approaching a black Audi which is parked on the street beside the pavement.

The cyclist spends several seconds at the far left-hand-side of the car before cycling to nearby Mercedes G-Class – which often sell for around £100,000.

He then makes a quick arm-movement towards the vehicle’s tyre before cycling away. As he does, the tyre starts to deflate.

Posting the video on social media, he said: ‘Really don’t understand… There is a guy going around Wapping slashing tires!

‘Anyone know who he is? He got a few cars including mine so if your in the area keep an eye out.’

It is not clear if one of the vehicles apparently targeted in the video belongs to the West Ham striker.

The Met Police were last night contacted for a comment by MailOnline.

Antonio, a £7million signing for West Ham in 2015, has played a key role in his side’s relegation scrap since Premier League restarted following its enforced break due to coronavirus.

As well as scoring four goals in Saturday’s win against now relegated Norwich, he also netted in West Ham’s crucial 3-2 win against Champions League chasing Chelsea earlier this month.

Today’s appeal by the striker is not the first time Antonio has made headlines involving cars.

In December 2019 he crashed his £210,000 Lamborghini Huracan into the bin shed of a family home while dressed as a snowman on Christmas Day.

Police and fire services were called to the address in Balham, south London, after the 29-year-old drove into the house’s front garden.

It is claimed smoke was coming from the wrecked super car after it collided with the bin shed and sent bricks and debris towards the front door of the home.

Though the West Ham striker reportedly had passengers in the car, neither he nor anyone else at the scene was hurt after he allegedly came off the road and struck a road sign.

He was apparently on his way to the West Ham team hotel ahead of their away trip to Crystal Palace.

As reported by MailOnline at the time, Antonio was understood to be regretful to the family and intended to pay for the damages.
