West Ham have revived talks with Paris St Germain for striker Hugo Ekitike.

They are running parallel negotiations with Corinthians for Yuri Alberto and have made an approach for Peterborough United defender Ronnie Edwards, 20.

As reported by Mail Sport on Tuesday, the Hammers will remain in the market for a forward, even after securing the stransfer of Mohammed Kudus, with Ekitike, Yuri Alberto and Sevilla’s Youssef En-Nesyri among their targets.

Ekitike moved to the Parc des Princes on loan from Reims in 2022, but has scored just four goals in 32 appearances at the club

Meanwhile, Alberto has one cap for Brazil and has scored 52 goals in 158 appearances for Brazilian sides Internacional and Corinthians.

The 22-year-old has spent some time in Europe with Russian side Zenit St Petersburg, but he only made 16 appearances.

Edwards has been a mainstay of Peterborough’s back four for the past two seasons, racking up 74 appearances in the Championship and League One.

A towering centre-back, the England U-20 international has played every minute of the Posh’s league campaign so far.

West Ham, Burnley and Borussia Dortmund are also keen on Chelsea left-back Ian Maatsen, while Everton have added West Ham winger Maxwel Cornet to their list of late targets.

Cornet’s West Ham’s teammate Pablo Fornals, meanwhile, has interest from Saudi Arabia.

As revealed by Mail Sport’s Transfer Confidential column earlier this week, Maatsen’s decision over a new contract could have a bearing on Marc Cucurella’s departure from Stamford Bridge.

Cucurella is available for loan and Manchester United made enquiries on Saturday but Chelsea may not be so sure if Holland U21 international left-back Maatsen doesn’t commit to a new deal.

The 21-year-old has been offered a lengthy deal but is unsure over the terms and the validity of signing it.

Mauricio Pochettino has been impressed with Maatsen and the club would prefer to let Cucurella go at this stage.
