A P-plate driver who was snapped eating a bowl of cereal while driving along a busy highway could face a hefty fine.

The female driver, whose stunt was described by police as ‘ridiculously dangerous’, was caught driving erratically along Marmion Avenue in Perth.

She was holding her bowl of cereal in one hand with a spoon in the other – appearing to steer her car with her legs.

The image was posted online and later sent to WA’s Police Commissioner, Chris Dawson.

‘The report I got was that the driver, who had their passenger take a photo of this, noticed because the car was weaving across the lane,’ Mr Dawson told Seven News.

The top cop described the incident as ‘extremely dangerous’ and said police had the driver’s registration.

‘You can’t be driving a car and eating your brekkie at the same time,’ he said

It is likely the driver will face a charge of careless driving and could result in the loss of her license.

Last month a Perth woman was fined $400 when she was caught driving and blatantly using FaceTime.

The 32-year-old woman was filmed by a passenger in a passing car while driving 100km/h on a freeway.

The footage, which caused online outrage, saw the woman also lose three demerit points for her reckless driving.
