Westpac and St George have suffered major outages for the second day in a row, with customers furious after not being able to access online banking.
More than 2,000 complaints were made about Westpac’s outage on Downdetector just before 2pm on Tuesday.
Many have complained they’re unable to access internet banking and the app as a result.
Some business owners have said the tech issue meant they couldn’t pay staff, while others said they were unable to buy their own lunch or fuel at the petrol station.
‘Westpac why can’t I load anything on the app? I can’t even see when my credit card billing is due, just keeps loading,’ one Westpac customer wrote to X.
‘It’s down again right now! That’s two days in a row!’ another wrote.
‘Westpac did it again! Never disappointing its customers with frequent outages. Keep the fun going!’ one said.
‘Again! This happened yesterday! Sort your s**t out,’ another said.

St George customers reported similar issues on Tuesday, with just over 200 complaints reported to Downdetector.
‘We’re aware that customers are experiencing issues accessing online and mobile banking. Our teams are working to fix the issue. We’re sorry for the inconvenience and will continue to share updates here,’ the bank said.
Just hours earlier, the bank had confirmed the outage had been resolved.
Westpac shared a similar statement to X on Tuesday afternoon saying it was aware customers were ‘experiencing issues accessing online and mobile banking’.
‘Our teams are working to fix the issue. We’re sorry for the inconvenience and will continue to share updates here,’ the bank said.
Some Westpac customers also reported being on hold with the telco for hours.
Thousands of Westpac and St George customers suffered through an earlier outage on Monday.
More than 7,000 complaints were reported about Westpac being down on Monday.
