‘What a cock up’: Council left red-faced after posting a rude aerial image of new skate park design

An Adelaide council has been left red-faced after posting an aerial image of their new skate park design.

The City of Tea Tree Gully Council in north-eastern Adelaide was mocked on social media after sharing design upgrades for the Bentley Reserve skate park.

The council posted aerial photos of two options for park users to vote on, with commentators highlighting one design for it’s phallic characteristics.

‘What a major c**k up,’ one comment reads.

‘Oh you go concept option 1 every day of the week,’ another user writes. ‘Would be a knob not to.’

‘How long will it take to erect?’ one comment says.

‘Sure is a nice penis, but where’s the skate park?’ another writes. 

City of Tea Tree Gully Council have since removed their original post with a shot from ground level and added an embarrassed caption thanking commentators for their feedback. 

‘AWKWARD! We’re feeling a little red faced here after posting our skate park design,’ the council post reads.

The Council changed the image on their post saying ‘We’ve changed the photo to one that more accurately reflects what people might expect to see from ground level, as we would hate to set up false expectations – too much pressure for a skate park’

Even their response has jested the comment thread.

‘Don’t be too hard on yourselves,’ one comment reads.
