- Bruce Dickinson is currently reading The Subtle Knife by Philip Pullman
- He would take the works of horror writer H. P. Lovecraft to a desert island
- The airline pilot admitted he’s not a fan of anything by Jane Austen
. . . are you reading now?
Rockstar and airline pilot Bruce Dickinson
H. G. WELLS’ The Shape Of Things To Come and The Subtle Knife by Philip Pullman.
The H. G. Wells is curiously relevant to these funny old Brexit times. Pullman is brilliant, with stunning bits of prose.
…would you take to a desert island?
the collective works of horror writer H. P. Lovecraft. On a desert island I’d like to think it would have a good scary effect!
…first gave you the reading bug?
Thomas The Tank Engine, Biggles and Three Men In A Boat by Jerome K. Jerome — he’s a very funny writer. Biggles is politically incorrect, but who cares? They’re good romping war stories. And as for Thomas — I just love trains!
…left you cold?
I’m AFRAID anything by Jane Austen. They’re all doom and gloom, so I wasn’t bothered at all.
Bruce Dickinson’s autobiography What Does This Button Do? is out now, published by HarperCollins at £20.
