It was the popular television drama that ran for five years from 2001.

With Logie winner Samuel Johnson as the lead, the program followed the lives of a group of friends living in a block of flats in Melbourne’s St Kilda. 

Not only did it make Samuel, now 39, a household name, it also introduced the faces of veteran actors Joel Edgerton and Claudia Karvan.

But following the show’s axing after the fourth season, what happened to cast members Sibylla Budd, Spencer McLaren and Dan Spielman?

But it wasn’t until his casting of Molly Meldrum in the mini-series Molly that put Samuel back into the spotlight.

His portrayal of the veteran music critic was recognised in the industry, being awarded the Gold Logie for Most Popular Personality on Television in 2017.

Tragedy: Samuel has also been plagued by heartache with his girlfriend Lainie Woodlands taking her life in February 2006, causing him to fall into a depression and seek counselling. And it was only last month that sister Connie passed away after battling breast cancer

Sibylla Budd

Joel Edgerton

Joel, 43, has now doubt come a long way since playing Will McGill on The Secret Life of Us.

He became a familiar face in film since 1999, but it wasn’t until his role in Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby that made Hollywood take notice.

Following on from the acclaimed musical production starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Joel went on to star in films The Gift and Loving.

However despite his newfound status, Joel is not after the title of ‘movie star’.

The producer told The WILD Magazine back in 2014: ‘Some people are really good at playing the movie star, they are really good at cultivating that mystique, but I’m not really into that.’

Claudia Karvan
