In 2001, they scored a No. 1 single with ‘Me Myself And I’ after being crowned the second winners of Channel Seven reality TV series Popstars.
But Scandal’us, unfortunately, failed to achieve much success following their early brush with fame, while their predecessors Bardot managed three top 10 songs before fizzling out.
During the early 2000s, Scandal’us was – if nothing else – an interesting experiment as it contained both male and female members, as opposed to popular bands like the Spice Girls, Backstreet Boys and NSYNC.

Where are they now? But what happened to the band members – Tamara Jaber, Jason Bird, Anna Belperio, Simon Ditcham, and Daniela Scala – after the split?
Scandal’us were more of a ‘flash-in-the pan’ group than Bardot, only managing a second single, ‘Make Me Crazy’, which peaked at No. 30 on the ARIA charts.
The group disbanded in 2001, just 12 months after their Popstars win.
But what happened to the band members – Tamara Jaber, Jason Bird, Anna Belperio, Simon Ditcham, and Daniela Scala – after the split?
Tamara Jaber
Solo star: Following the demise of Scandal’us Tamara Jaber – ditching her surname – released two singles, ‘Ooh Ahh’ and ‘Hard For Me’, with both reaching the top 30
Radio romance: Tamara married Kyle Sandilands in 2008, and had the auspicious honour of being the only act signed to the shock jock’s label, King Kyle Records
Following the demise of Scandal’us Tamara – ditching her surname – released two singles, ‘Ooh Ahh’ and ‘Hard For Me’, with both reaching the top 30.
The former contained such thoughtful lyrics as: ‘Boys are rotten / made out of cotton’, and, ‘Ooh ahh I lost my bra / I left it in my boyfriends car.’
Tamara parlayed her lyrical prowess into a romance with shock jock Kyle Sandilands, who she married in 2008, and had the honour of being the only act signed to Kyle’s label, King Kyle Records.
The union only lasted two years and Kyle revealed on-air recently that the wedding was a ‘disaster’.
Having also appeared on the 2010 series of Dancing With the Stars, Tamara has since relocated to Los Angeles where she continues to work on her solo music career.
Jason Bird
Living the dream: Jason Bird was one of the two male members of Scandal’us and, after that dream fell by the wayside, continued to pursue music according to News.com.au
Still singing! According to his Linkedin profile, Jason currently works as a program coordinator for Camp Quality, and lists his skills as freelance singer, choreographer and director

However, Jason managed to nab a plum gig behind the scenes, working as a choreographer on season three of So You Think You Can Dance Australia.
The publication also reported he had been involved with a not-for-profit grassroots musical organisation, Catch Music, for marginalised communities.
According to his Linkedin profile, Jason currently works as a program coordinator for Camp Quality, and lists his skills as freelance singer, choreographer and director.
Anna Belperio
Keeping on! Anna Belperio was another bandmate who refused to let her musical dreams die with Scandal’us
Still at it: While she may not be playing stadiums and storming up the chart, Anna still gives her vocals a workout by singing for wedding duo Music By Pearl
Anna Belperio was another bandmate who refused to let her musical dreams die with Scandal’us.
While she may not be playing stadiums and storming up the chart, Anna still gives her vocals a workout by singing for wedding duo Music By Pearl.
Belting out numbers from the likes of Brian McKnight, Sarah McLaughlin and Beyoncé, the outfit has more than 200 songs in their repertoire.
Hot property on the Adelaide wedding circuit, the band took out the Australian Bridal Industry award for Best Ceremony Music in 2014 and 2015.
Simon Ditcham
New path: While Simon Ditcham seems to have gone quiet on social media since 2015, he told News.com.au that year he had re-engaged with his spirituality
Protest: Simon also took part in a hunger strike in 2015 to protest about ‘desertification’ of the globe and to help raise funds for areas where fertile land had become desert
While Simon Ditcham seems to have gone quiet on social media since 2015, he told News.com.au that year he had re-engaged with his spirituality.
‘I started to realise that the Bible is telling us the truth about ourselves and our journey from slavery to here,’ he explained.
‘God just wants us to live happily and love each other as he commanded, which is the biggest concern because we obviously don’t apply that… we don’t live it.’
Simon also took part in a hunger strike in 2015 to protest about ‘desertification’ of the globe and to help raise funds for areas where fertile land had become desert.
Daniela Scala
After Scandal’us imploded, Daniela had another crack at reality TV fame, auditioning for the 2015 season of The Voice.
While she was unsuccessful in her Voice bid, her musical dreams still loom large.
