In general, there are three different types of bodies: ectomorphs, endomorphs, and mesomorphs. These body types were calculated from measurements of individual bodies, their behavioral trends when it comes to losing weight or gaining weight, and their ability to become more muscular. Ectomorphs are the type of people that everyone seems to be jealous of. They are long, lean, and have very little fat in their bodies. They can eat a lot, and they don’t even put on any extra weight. For many people, this is a dream come true! But for ectomorphs, this can be difficult because of their specific body type.

These individuals have trouble putting on weight, which can be difficult if they are naturally very skinny. For those who want to gain weight or even want to get stronger in the gym, it can be challenging if you’re an ectomorph to achieve this. In many cases, you will have to eat a lot of food and talk up instead of having to trim down like other body types.

However, one of the most significant benefits is that you don’t have to worry too much about the type of food you eat. With other body types, it can be much more of a concern. It should still be noted that you need to eat healthily, but there is a less likely chance that you will regain the weight that you gained with ectomorphs.


On the other end of the body type spectrum, there is the endomorph. As mentioned in our body type quiz, endomorphs are not typically seen as obese or overweight, but they retain lots of body fat and muscle. They can gain weight very quickly compared to other body types. This can be a great thing if they are bodybuilders or in the gym working out. However, this means different things for those who are not as active and lean on sweets and junk food.

For those who are involved in sports as endomorphs, you need to know that it’ll be challenging to gain just muscle. You tend to have a balanced way of gaining weight, ensuring that you have equal power and fat parts. With this type especially, nutrition is essential to sustaining your body weight and your health. You have to watch what you eat, but so does everybody.

It’s important to note that not all endomorphs are overweight. Many of them are incredibly healthy. They tend to carry a little more weight than others, but those who are active and consistent with their strength training or other sports are still solid compared to different body types and individuals.


Now that we’ve talked about both sides of the body type spectrum, it’s essential to talk about the middle of the range: mesomorphs. Mesomorphs are directly in the middle of both ectomorphs and endomorphs. They generally have broad shoulders, narrow waist, and round muscle bellies. They tend to be very athletic and more muscular than others.

Mesomorphs can get back in shape much faster than other people. This can be incredibly helpful, especially for athletes who are mesomorphs. Like the different types, mesomorphs have to eat healthier, and they have to watch what they eat. However, they will find that they can gain weight faster than ectomorphs and get in shape more quickly than Endo Morris. While many are jealous of the ectomorphs, mesomorphs genuinely have the best of both worlds with their body type.

Now, it’s important to note that not everybody’s going to fit a particular body type completely. Perhaps you blend between the endomorph and the mesomorph. For some, they are between ectomorph and mesomorph. Everybody is different and understanding more about your body can help you find new ways to be healthier and treat your body more appropriately!

No matter what body type you are, you can still find ways to stay healthy or get healthier. Eating healthy and remaining active have always been the key to wellness for anyone! It is impossible to be healthy, even if you have more difficulty losing weight as an endomorph. No matter your body type, you still have the potential to be at your healthiest, which is even easier after you know your body type!
