What Not To Wear presenter Trinny Woodall reveals she’s just as ruthless in her personal life, saying: ‘If people drain my energy, they have to go’

As the presenter of TV’s What Not To Wear, she was known for delivering ruthless home truths as she helped men and women find their new look.

And Trinny Woodall, 60, has revealed she is just as cutting in her personal life – as she says if people drain her energy, she will ‘let them go’.

Showing off her sense of style in a leopard-print suit on the cover of Woman & Home magazine, the entrepreneur and TV presenter said: ‘I’m ruthless when it comes to letting go of people from my life.

‘If people drain my energy, they have to go. Friends should bring each other energy.’

Last year, Ms Woodall split from her partner of a decade, art collector and Nigella Lawson’s ex-husband Charles Saatchi, 81.

Speaking about dating again, Ms Woodall said: ‘Being single in your 50s and 60s is interesting… Is there a difference between me saying I’m 59 and dating, and being 60 and dating? Not at all… it’s all about how we come across – 60 used to feel old, but now it’s like being 40.’

Ms Woodall was previously married to businessman Johnny Elichaoff from 1999 to 2009. He tragically took his own life in 2014. At the time of his death, the star was launching her beauty company Trinny London, which she has turned into a £180 million beauty empire.

Ms Woodall and Susannah Constantine became household names in 2001 as co-hosts of What Not To Wear, where they got a reputation for their straight-talking fashion advice.

Speaking about their relationship, Ms Woodall said: ‘Of all my friendships, ours is the most equal… It can be very intense and sometimes we needed a break, but we totally accept each other for who we are.’

It comes just days after she was the epitome of old-school glamour as she celebrated the opening of her flagship store.

Ms Woodall looked elegant as she donned a floor-length silver sequin dress with fringe detailing for the launch of her latest store named after herself earlier this month.

The businesswoman showed of her figure in the dazzling dress which she paired with silver platform sandals and simple silver bangles.

The star kept her brown locks loose and added a touch of glowy make-up to her ensemble.
