What really happened during Ryan’s exit on Bachelorette

Viewers were left shocked on Thursday night when The Bachelorette villain Ryan swore and stormed off after Sophie Monk booted him from the competition.

But Ryan has insisted it was a mutual decision between the pair, and said he wasn’t swearing at the former Bardot star during their dramatic showdown.

‘It was a mutual decision,’ he told TV Week. ‘I definitely initiated the conversation because I knew there were men in the mansion who were really falling hard for her, like James.’

Meanwhile, during an interview on the Kyle and Jackie O show on Friday morning, Ryan claimed he was not swearing at Sophie when he left the mansion in a huff.

He said he was angry because producers did not have any ‘beers on ice’ for the reality reject.

‘I looked over to the producers and asked “Are there beer on ice?”‘ he explained.

According to Ryan he became most upset when he was told there were no brews on hand.

The New Zealander also told TV Week that he didn’t flee the scene, he went back into the mansion to say goodbye to the other contestants.

‘I got to see all the boys again and tell them that Sophie and I had decided it was best that I leave, but you guys didn’t see that. I couldn’t be there any longer,’ he explained to the publication.

Ryan, 26, was unceremoniously booted off the show by Sophie after he admitted she isn’t ‘worth it’ and he’s just not that into her.

The pair found themselves embroiled in a very heated discussion where Sophie told him: ‘I just think you should go off and meet the right girl.’

During the chat Ryan admitted he would find it difficult to fit into Sophie’s life in the public eye.

‘Do you reckon you could fit in with my life?’ Sophie asked him.

‘I do, but, you know, if…if we start spending more time together and start, you know, I guess] getting more of a connection then, I think you’re worth it, then of course,’ he replied, with Sophie replying ‘You don’t think I’m worth it yet?’

Ryan said that he ‘hardly’ knew her.

Sophie then proceeded to probe him about past comments he had made about how he likes women who ‘take care of themselves’ and don’t swear.

‘I’m a sloth,’ Sophie said, before telling him she swears a lot.

‘I’m sure I want to be here and fall in love. You’re not sure and there are guys that definitely want to be with me, and I want someone that loves me 100 per cent,’ she said.

‘I want someone that wants me so I’m going to choose them over you.’

‘I just think you should go off and, like, meet the right girl. And I promise you it’s not me from talking to you. Do you agree?’

She added: ‘This far in, I think the guys should know whether they want to be here or not.’

‘I don’t have any time to waste and I feel terrible, but what are we doing?’

Ryan then stormed off and swore as he left, saying: ‘F**k… It’s f**kin’ bulls**t.’

Sophie was left shocked, but said she  was proud of herself for letting him go.

‘I’m learning so much about myself it’s ridiculous. I’m learning to stand up for myself. Usually I’d just let him stay, but I can’t,’ she said.

‘I want to fall in love so I have to do this.’
