A mother has sparked debate after sharing the things in society which she feels should never be allowed – including shops deciding on dress sizes for women.
Writing on British parenting forum Mumsnet, the anonymous woman shared her thoughts and asked others for their opinions.
The conversation was sparked after she explained she thinks that ‘petrol should be the same price from a retailer no matter where you buy it from.’

The woman wrote: ‘Following on from the petrol price thread (and in true Victor Meldrew style) what do you think shouldn’t be allowed…I’ll kick off with the following:
‘Petrol should be the same price from a retailer no matter where you buy it from. Nothing should ever be double taxed (Petrol again….Fuel Duty and VAT!)
‘All displayed prices for anything should be inclusive of VAT. A council should not be able to get away with paying for damage caused by potholes by saying, ‘we are aware and it’s due to be fixed’
‘Electricity and gas prices should be easy to understand. The same goes for water (who last bought a cubic metre of water from a shop when they wanted a drink?)

‘If someone is sentenced to life for murder, this should mean for the rest of their life, not to be released after 10, 15, 20 years etc….’
Others suggested that woman’s clothing sizes shouldn’t be determined by shops and sugar in food should be a choice.
One person wrote: ‘You should be able to buy foods/drinks with sugar in if you choose to. Forcing sweeteners on people shouldn’t be allowed.’
Another said: ‘Shops being able to choose how to size women’s clothes. The sizes should be standard so I can shop online and know if I’m a 10 or 16. Also, women’s jeans must have proper pockets.’

Meanwhile others had an issue with pets roaming around freely, saying they should be on a lead.
One person wrote: ‘Dogs of leads in public parks. They should have a separate section. Not everyone likes dogs and or standing in their sh**.’
Another said: ‘Letting cats just wonder the streets and do the toilet in peoples gardens. Wouldn’t be acceptable for dogs so why cats?’
While someone else wrote: ‘I agree with you and I have had many large dogs over the years but the one thing that has always annoyed me is when there is dog poo in the park or on the road.
‘I never went anywhere without the poop bags and in my opinion there should be huge fines given to owners who do not pick up their dogs poo, just like we get expensive parking fines.’
