Where are The Block’s most memorable contestants now?

There’s been 13 years of everyday Australians slogging it out on TV’s toughest renovation show.

And as The Block’s latest season rapidly approaches auction day,  it’s easy to forget just how many have come before.

From a failed singing career and business launches to baby births and TV hosting gigs… Daily Mail Australia discover what the most memorable Blockheads are up to now.

Where are they now? As the current crop of The Block get set to head to auction, Daily Mail Australia takes a look back at the most memorable contestants from the show

They survived the gruelling renovations that occur on Channel Nine’s long-running reality show: here’s what the contestants have been doing with their lives since filming wrapped.

Gav and Waz — Season One

Designer Boys: Season one's Gaz and Waz have started their own interior styling business and left Sydney in 2016 after buying a  $2.7 million property on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland

They were the memorable couple from The Block’s inaugural season, thanks to Waz’s distinctive laugh.

After placing third in the series – which was then hosted by Jamie Durie –  the men started their own business, Designer Boys.

As well as providing interior styling services, the boys also sell and produce artwork withing the business.

In 2016, Gaz and Waz left the hustle and bustle of Sydney behind and bought a $2.7 million property on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland.

Josh and Jenna — Season 4 and All Stars

As though auction day on The Block wasn’t action-packed enough, Josh added to the drama when he popped the question to Jenna in 2011.

Luckily she said yes and they’ve recently moved into the next stage of their relationship and become parents; the couple’s  daughter Freddie was born in June this year.

Work-wise, the couple launched two businesses: Bicker Design in 2011 and Design School in 2016.

Phil and Amity appeared on the first season of The Block as well as the All Stars season.

While Amity tried to propel her new found prominence into a singing career, she had limited success.

Michael and Carlene competed together on the Glasshouse season of The Block and were devastated when they only took home $10,000 in profit.

But they weren’t put off renovating and have since set their sights  on revamping a 1966 Millard Florida caravan.

Currently, the couple are busy parents to two young kids, Paddy and Stella, and run their own business Cedar & Suede.

In stark contrast to Michael and Carlene, Deanne and Darren pocketed a whopping $900,000 in profit for their efforts on the Glasshouse season and later returned for Triple Threat.

Since their stint on the show, the couple have hit the headlines for controversially levelling a heritage-listed property they were renovating.

Facing court and fines up to $180,000, the duo were slapped with a good behaviour bond and ordered to ‘pay costs’ of the demolition.

Eventually, Deanne and Darren sold off the property for $2.9 million.

Dale has had his hands full juggling his landscaping business d.vine scapes, a presenting role on ManSpace as well as a CAT Australia ambassador role.

Not one to be outdone, Dani also appears on the small screen as the host of Healthy Homes TV.
