Where the members of Popstars girl group Bardot are now

It was the talent quest which sparked a new generation of singing competitions on Australian TV.

And Popstars helped launch the careers of Sophie Monk, Tiffani Wood, Belinda Chapple, Sally Polihronas and Katie Underwood.

 The women were selected after a round of singing challenges on the 1999 Channel Seven talent show, the group released a solo album and number one single Poison, as well as a self-titled clothing line.

Disbanding in 2002, Daily Mail Australia takes a look at where the members of Bardot are now.

Sophie Monk

The most famous member of the girl band, Sophie Monk was a 19 year old Marilyn Monroe impersonator when she joined Bardot in 1999.

After the band dissolved in 2002, Sophie went on to have a successful solo singing career, before relocating to Hollywood in 2005 to try her luck at an acting career.

The blonde bombshell starred in Date Movie and Click, also enjoying a series of high profile relationships with Benji Madden and Sam Worthington.

In 2013 Sophie returned to Australia as a radio host, before appearing on The Bachelorette in 2017 where she has scored the highest ratings of any season of the franchise in Australia.

Tiffani Wood

Now 39, Tiffani Wood joined Bardot after Chantelle Barry left the group and enjoyed some solo success when the group disbanded.

Woman’s Day reports that the singer has now found love with a new partner Luke after divorcing husband Neil Cummins, who was John Ibrahim’s former bodyguard.

The singer is a mother to five children; 10-year-old Lillian,  three-year-old Harley, two-year-old Beau, 17-month-old Ryder and newborn daughter Brooklyn. 

Tiffani now shares her singing knowledge with the next generation of superstars, running a Gold Coast-based performing arts workshop for children called Popstar Kidz.

Belinda Chapple 

Went overseas: Belinda moved to London after her solo career as a jazz artist failed to launch 

After her solo career as a jazz artist failed to take off when Popstars disbanded, Belinda Chapple, now 42, moved to London. 

The former popstar married beau Peter Landin last year, and now runs her own design business, House of Chapple Interiors.

Katie Underwood

Popular solo artist: Katie Underwood enjoyed a successful career as a solo artist and TV personality in the early 2000s after Bardot

Now 41, Katie Underwood enjoyed a successful career as a solo artist and TV personality in the early 2000s after Bardot.

She released a series of dance music tracks and appeared on reality TV show Undercover Angels in 2002.

But the singer has faded from the spotlight in the past decade, giving birth to twins Zoe and Charlotte in 2011.

Sally Polihronas 

Changed careers: Sally Polihronas was the only member of Bardot who decided not to pursue a solo career after Popstars

Sally Polihronas, now 41, was the only member of Bardot who decided not to pursue a solo career after Popstars.

Instead, Sally travelled and later returned to Australia to work on live events for FremantleMedia, Woman’s Day reports.

The former singer is now a mum to two-year-old daughter Chloe.

Chantelle Barry 

Controversial: Chantelle Barry left Popstars accused of allegedly stealing money from Sophie Monk, which she denied

 Chantelle Barry, now 43, left Popstars accused of allegedly stealing money from Sophie Monk, which she denied.

The singer left Sydney after the controversy and has since reinvented herself as an actor and songwriter in the United States.

In 2008, Chantelle scored a minor role in the 90210 reboot and released solo album Simple Things in 2009.
