White Sox shooting: two people are shot at Guaranteed Rate Field as Chicago officials are forced to cancel post-game Vanilla Ice concert

Two fans were shot at Guaranteed Rate Field Friday night as the White Sox took on the Athletics, police have confirmed.

According to audio of the 16th & 17th District Chicago Police Scanner on Twitter, one victim was grazed in the stomach and another victim was shot in the leg.

The victim that was shot in the leg is said to have been transported to the University of Chicago Hospital.

A third victim was uninjured.

Additionally, police said that live rounds were recovered.

Police later confirmed a ‘shooting incident’ at the stadium, as reported by CBS News Chicago’s Charlie De Mar.

According to the audio of the Chicago Police Scanner, the bloodshed occurred in section 162.

The game was finished as the White Sox lost 12-4.

However, a postgame concert meant to feature rapper Vanilla Ice was cancelled due to ‘technical issues,’ according to a message on the stadium’s video board.

A fan named Tom Miller told ABC Chicago that he was sitting two rows behind where the shooting happened.

Miller said that security ushered him and others to section six for around 45 minutes.
