Who are the world’s most famous nepo spouses?

Some stars owe their fame to talent, others to their connections…but these celebs have their other halves to thank for their rise to fame.

Six years ago, Joe Alwyn was a little-known actor, but thanks to his relationship with Taylor Swift, the Conversations with Friends star,  32, became a global name.

Hilaria Baldwin was a humble yoga teacher when she caught the eye of Hollywood leading man Alec in 2011 – but 12 years and seven children later, the actor’s wife now has one million followers on Instagram.

Meanwhile, Katherine Schwarzenegger’s profile was boosted when she married Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt. She is now promoting the release of her new children’s book, Good Night, Sister.

Similarly, Ben Falcone, the husband of comedy giant Melissa McCarthy, has also enjoyed a increase in profile thanks to his marriage.

He has appeared in cameos in a number of his wife’s movies, including The Heat, Spy, Bridesmaids and Identity Thief.

Here, FEMAIL takes a look at the celebs who have their other half partly to thank for their popularity.

At 39, Hilaria Baldwin is perhaps one of Hollywood’s most famous wives who has never dabbled in acting or singing.

The Boston native, now a mother-of-seven, was thrust into the spotlight when she married Alec in 2012.

Up until then, the yoga teacher had been focused on her own craft, opening a studio in new York in 2009.

She went on to launch a number of other studios shortly thereafter.

Hilaria was working as a yoga teacher when she met Alec at Sarma Melngailis’ restaurant Pure Food and Wine in 2011, and immediately hit it off with the actor.

They tied-the-knot a year later, with business opportunities opening up for the newlywed.

She became a lifestyle correspondent for the entertainment show Extra in 2012.

The New York Times alleged in 2014 that she got the gig thanks to her husband, who was a friend of Steve Sunshine, a producer for the show.

On top of her TV work, Hilaria began to build her fitness empire, releasing in 2013 @ Home with Hilaria Baldwin: Fit Mommy-to-Be Prenatal Yoga, a home exercise DVD where she talked viewers through several routines.

She now often shares short exercise reels and videos on her Instagram page, where she counts one million followers, dispensing advice on how to achieve the poses.

She also scored a book deal, releasing The Living Clearly Method in 2016, and launching a website to promote it.

The mother-of-seven is also an avid podcaster. In 2018, she partnered with Daphne Oz to create Mom Brain, a parenting-focused programme where they discussed all aspects of motherhood.

However, after allegations arose in 2020 accusing Hilaria of cultural appropriation and of faking her Spanish heritage, she stopped recording episodes.

She has since bounced back and joined the Today Witches Anonymous podcast iHeart Radio.

Alec and his wife have been keeping a low profile amid the actor’s Rust shooting legal drama.

One of the world’s most famous WAGs, Cristiano Ronaldo’s other half needs no introduction.

Georgina, 29, was an unknown working as a sales assistant in a Gucci store when she met Cristiano.

She was propelled to international fame when her relationship with the footballer was made public in 2017, following the  Portuguese player’s split from Irina Shayk.

Now, she’s the one buying designer gear, enjoying a rumoured £1.2m bag collection.

The mother-of-two loves to share glimpses of her luxury lifestyle with her 48.7million Instagram followers.

By comparison, Coleen Rooney and Rebekah Vardy, of Wagathie Christie fame, count 942,000 and 402,000 respectively.

Her extravagant dressing room homes a 150-strong handbag collection from the likes of Hermès, Prada and Chanel, as well as valuable jewellery and a beauty corner with a dresser lined with light bulbs.

Georgina’s impressive garments are sorted on different racks while her shoes are separated into slippers, trainers, heels and boots.

From designer bags to lavish holidays, Georgina has learned the ins-and-outs of the luxury lifestyle, and of course, shares a healthy dose of loved-up selfies and pictures with her footballer husband.

She’s now so famous that the Hermes-loving beauty bagged her very own Netflix show, titled I am Georgina, with the second season being released in March.

Her own net-worth is currently estimated at £8million, thanks to her different brand deals and reality TV series.

The couple married in 2019, and have welcomed two children since their nuptials.

The association with the actor threw camera-shy Katherine into the limelight and she has now seen her follower count on Instagram multiply, reaching 1 million earlier this year.

She has also continued to write, and is currently promoting her second children’s book, Good Night, Sister.

She has been relying on her social media following to document her book tour and recommending the novel online.

Ben Falcone, the husband of comedy legend Melissa McCarthy, has been called a ‘nepo husband’ by fans.

The pair, who are both alumni of the Groundlings improvisation theatre troupe based in LA, tied the knot in 2005 and have two daughters together.

While his wife has enjoyed a steady rise to fame since she appeared in Gilmore Girls, Ben has remained largely behind-the-scenes.

He co-wrote, produced and directed several of Melissa’s project, including The Boss, in which their two daughters make cameos, Life of the Party and Superintelligence.

Ben also had cameos in several of his wife’s movies, including The Heat, Spy, Bridesmaids and Identity Thief.

Last year, the pair were out promoting God’s Favorite Idiot, an apocalyptic workplace comedy series that debuted its eight episodes in June on Netflix, which was created by Ben.

It stars Ben and Melissa as Clark Thompson and Amaly Luck.

One thing is for sure, Melissa is a fan, telling People magazine in 2020: ‘He’s nothing but supportive, and he’s super smart

‘He makes me gut-laugh, like crazy gut-laugh, four or five times a day. I hit the jackpot,’ she added.

While their romance is believed to have been cut short in recent months, Joe Alwyn has enjoyed a boost in profile having dated one of the world’s most famous women for a number of years.

Joe, a University of Bristol graduate, was a little-known actor who had only appeared in a handful of independent films when he met Taylor Swift.

The great-grandson of composer William Alwyn, Joe has admitted in several interviews that he always wanted to pursue acting but was a shy child.

‘I wasn’t one of those kids who get up on the table and dance at a young age,’ he told Vogue in 2016. ‘But I always wanted to be an actor. I just never told anybody—I kept it a secret.’

However, Joe was exposed to the arts at a young age as his father Richard was a documentary maker.

Joe was still studying when he bagged his first major film role as the lead in Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk.

He told Vogue in 2016: ‘Four weeks earlier, I’d been in drama school.’

Later that year, the exciting young actor bagged an invite to the exclusive MET Gala in New York, which was also attended by his future girlfriend Taylor.

And thanks to their six year long relationship, the Conversations with Friends star,  32, won a new legion of fans – in the form of her ‘Swifties’.

Over the course of their relationship, the 11-time Grammy Award-winning singer, 33, and the Conversations with Friends actor were pictured together a handful of times – usually hiding hoods or sneaking in back entrances to exclusive restaurants and award ceremonies.

Meanwhile he bagged a number of higher profile roles in Hollywood – including a supporting role in The Favourite alongside Olivia Colman and Emma Stone and the BBC adaptation of Sally Rooney’s bestseller Conversations with Friends.

However this may be one nepo spouse whose ultra-famous relationship is over.

Earlier this week, Entertainment Tonight left fans devastated when they reported that the fiercely private couple have called time on their romance.

The publication reports that the pop star – who is currently touring the US with her Eras show – and the UK actor allegedly had an amicable split that was ‘not dramatic.’

Although the pair have yet to publicly confirm or deny the split, fans  have insisted they have worked out the reason behind the alleged break-up by looking at clues from her Eras tour.
