In the coming weeks Jose Mourinho will have a true idea of the Tottenham squad he has inherited, and will be safe in the knowledge of which players he will retain and move on to pastures new.
The Portuguese boss is a serial winner, and is known not to suffer fools gladly. With his arrival comes an element of uncertainty for some players, who may begin to feel like their days at the new White Hart Lane are numbered.
