Mormon Colorado dentist James Craig is accused of murdering his wife by poisoning her protein shakes in a case that has shocked America.
Craig, 45, who was reportedly addicted to pornography since he was a teenager and is said to have devised the murder so he could run away with his orthodontist mistress who was pictured for the first time this week.

How long was Craig married to his wife?
Craig and Angela were married for 22 years, having tied the knot in 2001 when they were both in their 20s. They both hailed from Kansas but lived together in Aurora, Colorado.
It is not known how the couple met but their social media pages paint the picture of a happy couple who frequently shared shots of them with their children.
In 2016 she praised her husband for pitching in with the housework.
A Facebook post reads: ‘How many times has Jim come home from work, looked at the house, and looked at me in obvious confusion.
‘See, I’ve told him throughout the day about how busy I am, but when he comes home, he only sees me standing amidst a disaster smiling and saying…
‘I finally got those pictures hung. To his credit, he totally understands and jumps right in to help every time. And that’s what makes him Smokin Hot!’
Meanwhile Craig’s profile sees him refer to himself as a ‘husband, father, dentist, theme park junkie, opera lover, football fan, cook, fisherman, snowboarder.’
In a 2021 press release, he also described himself as ‘happily married’ to Angela.
‘They also enjoy visiting theme parks and are often traveling to Disney, Universal, and Sea World,’ the release said.

How many children did they have together?
The couple shared six children between them. They have five girls – Nora Jane, Mira, Belle, Violet Jo and Cleo – and an eldest boy called Toliver. They are aged between eight and 20.
Several of the older children including Toliver were present during Craig’s hearing on Thursday, sitting silently in the courtroom.
On social media, Angela frequently shared posts of the family altogether and documented birthdays, lunches, spa days and text messages she shared with her children.
In one post celebrating Toliver’s birthday in 2017 she wrote: ‘Love this crazy life!’

Did the couple ever separate?
Despite the image of a happy family shared on social media, the Craigs’s marriage was reportedly mired in problems, sparked by his infidelity, apparent porn addiction and financial woes.
Angela’s sister said she thought about leaving him several times but that he always managed to talk her round. Her sister told officers he had had ‘multiple affairs’ and had been addicted to pornography since he was a teenager.
A police report states she had discussed leaving him several times during their relationship.
It adds that she had complained James had ‘run his dental office into the ground’ and even gambled away over $2,000 during a trip to Las Vegas.
Court records show his practice Summerbrook Dental filed for bankruptcy protection in 2021.
Craig is even said to have drugged Angela around five to six years ago, her sister is quoted as saying in the police report.
Separately, a colleague is quoted in the report as saying the couple were having ‘marital problems’ meaning he would leave work at lunch some days due to their fights.
In December 2022, James reported wanting to divorce his wife. But he claims she was depressed and suicidal.

Who was Craig’s mistress?
This week Dailymail.com revealed the identity of Craig’s mistress – a Texan orthodontist called Karin Cain, 49.
Cain is in the middle of a divorce from her husband Jason with whom she shares two children.
She was pictured yesterday in a set of medical scrubs and sneakers as she took a lunch break from work.
Cain’s name was mentioned twice in court documents – though on other occasions it was redacted.
She wrote an email to Craig on March 16 and comforted him over Angela’s ill-health.
‘Hi honey, I am so sorry for what has transpired this week in your world. I am sorry II am not a part of your world to be of more help to you and instead I am pulling you away,’ she said.
‘This is so hard,’ she continued. ‘I want to be and do whatever I can to support and encourage you and I don’t want to add to what has become an incredibly difficult time.

‘I can’t imagine what it is doing to you to walk your kids through this. I do want to give you any comfort I can but I do not feel it is right for me to mix in with all those gathering to mourn Angela either and I do not want to meet your family as a friend and try to conceal what I feel for you.
I am praying for you and seeking Gods wisdom for this time.’
She signed off with the words ‘I love you.’
A search of Craig’s emails revealed he had booked flights for Cain from Austin to Denver around the same time he is alleged to have placed arsenic and potassium cyanide in his wife’s pre-workout shakes to poison her.
