Whoopi Goldberg puts her $8.8million house on the market

She is said to boast a net-worth of a staggering $45million.

And Whoopi Goldberg has reportedly put her $8.8million pink mansion in Los Angeles on the market, after 25 years as the owner.  

The 62-year-old View host snapped up the luxurious property in the upmarket neighbourhood, Pacific Palisades for $2.55million back in 1993, according to The Wall Street Journal and will now be selling it for treble.

At the time, Whoopi was reportedly the highest paid actress starring in blockbuster hits such as Sister Act and The Lion King. 

The art-deco style house is said to have retained many of its original features after author Vicki Baum built the 7,000 square foot house in 1933.

The property, which is situated among 64 acres, boasts an impressive curved pool, five sumptuous en-suite bathrooms and bedrooms as well as an expansive kitchen.

As well as a separate house for guests, there is a three-car garage, a flagstone terrace and a formal dining room. 

Original details including marble checkerboard floors in the entryway, pink weeping brick exterior walls and crown moldings are said to have been retained, according to its listing.

If the property sells for its asking price, the television presenter could walk away with a $6million profit. 

The Emmy Award winner boasts an impressive property portfolio, but has said to have slimmed it down in recent years. 

Back in 2015, Whoopi’s idyllic Victorian barn was snapped for $2million just 10 days after hitting the market.

The estate in Berkeley, California, featured a three-bed main house, a detached three-bed cottage, and a tree-lined patio.   

The Ghost actress is the second black woman in the history of the Academy Awards to win an Oscar.

She’s one of the few entertainers to have won a Grammy Award, Tony Award, Emmy Award and an Academy Award, and has been nominated for 13 Emmy Awards in her storied career.

Aside from her legacy on screen, Whoopi is also known as a longtime AIDS activist with decades of service to various organizations, in addition to a partnership with singer Cindy Lauper’s Give A Damn campaign that brings awareness of discrimination of the LGBT community. 

The decision to put the mansion on the market comes as Whoopi joined a plethora of stars on Saturday to speak up about the Time’s Up movement at the Women’s Rally in New York.
