A $19 ‘game-changing’ item from Kmart Australia has been flying off the shelves for making ‘lives easier’ – and it’s not hard to see why. 

The portable solar-powered charger has been constantly selling out across the country, with many saying they are struggling to get their hands on one.

The sought-after product can be charged via a USB cable or sun, making it perfect for outdoor trips, travel or emergencies such as power outages.

It’s compatible with most devices featuring USB ports, including smartphones, smartwatches, portable speakers, GPS units, cameras, iPads and more.

With a runtime of up to 12 hours after being fully charged, the 5,000mAh rechargeable battery has two USB charging ports, allowing you to recharge two devices at the same time.

Shoppers, including travellers and campers, have been raving about the product, with one saying: ‘It’s the best thing I’ve bought. Had it for a while now and it works well.’

The lightweight charger, which doubles as a torch, has received more than 80 five-star reviews, boasting an average rating of 4.3 out of 5 stars.

‘I bought this, hoping it would be good and it has exceeded my expectations. It keeps its charge really well and even recharged my iPhone and AirPods without dropping down a bar. This will be travelling with me from now on, it’s eco-friendly and very light. There are many more expensive ones on the market but this one gets my tick of approval,’ one said.

‘Purchased for an upcoming camping trip but got these out when we had a power cut. It was amazing at how quickly they charged my phone to 100 per cent,’ one said.

‘Finally got my mitts on one as they go like hotcakes. Cannot stress enough how much this makes my life easier – no more kids losing their minds because the power’s out again, or we’re driving somewhere far and they can’t play games on their tablet because it’s out of battery again. Thank you Kmart for helping parents keep their sanity,’ one added.

Many said the portable solar charger was great for keeping in emergency kits while others raved about how it has ‘saved’ them during power outages. 

Meanwhile, many revealed the solar power banks are constantly sold out at their local stores.

‘Oh no, they’re always sold out at my local,’ one shared.

‘Finally got my hands on one. They work extremely well,’ another revealed. 

‘They are very hard to find but make great gifts and the torch is excellent. And we have so many power cuts – saves me charging from car. Love it,’ one added.
