A sickening trend has been quietly growing across Britain of dog owners picking up their animal’s mess, putting it in a bag and hanging it from a tree or dumping it on the same spot.
Tim Prater, a councillor from Kent, was flabbergasted to find 210 bags of dog poo along a single path this week.
He saw a mountain of excrement, each deposit tied up in a small black plastic bag. Incredibly, this foul problem appears to be rife in Britain.
Across the UK, walkers have complained of finding abandoned poo bags. It seems owners have been picking up the mess, putting it in non-biodegradable bags and leaving them for the next unfortunate soul to find.
The number one dog poo problem used to be that people weren’t picking up after their dog, but the number two issue seems to be this vile new trend. Some people have even been creating shrines of poo by hanging their soiled bags from trees.

When dog owners do do that, it has only added to the growing poo problem Brits face.
Mr Prater said: ‘In a little over 30 minutes, I picked up (and have now removed and disposed of) 210 black bags of dog mess.
‘Grow up. Take it home. Almost everyone else does – what makes you special?
‘For clarity, having picked up all your bags, they do not biodegrade. Every one, from the top to the bottom of the pile still had ”structural integrity”.

Ian Casement told MailOnline: ‘Far too many dog owners do this and not even wild campers adhere to ”Leave No Trace” when it interferes with their convenience. Here’s one on a gatepost of all places!’

‘It is a road with two schools and there are few bins in the area, as others have pointed out.
‘But almost everyone else is dealing with their litter and their dogs waste properly.’

‘Do they feel they are meeting their obligations half-way, but they are too full of their own importance to find a bin or take it home with them?
‘It is disgusting but better than a pile of poo on the pavement!’
Rita Peacock, also from Ealing said: ‘I am a dog owner and pick up my dogs mess.
‘[I] do think we should have a lot more bins.’
Toby Jeffries, a fan of wild camping, told MailOnline: ‘I noticed a few on the rear approach to Tyndale Monument recently, near Wotton-Under-Edge in the Cotswolds.
‘Someone with me suggested that they are only left temporarily because people pick them up on the return journey, as they don’t want to carry them, which was the case for some, but not all.
‘If people are just leaving them for others to clear, then that’s kind of weird, as it defeats the object.’
Les Waller told MailOnline: I’ll never understand why people hang them in trees or bushes after they bothered to pick up the poop
Jamie Perks said: ‘They’re all over the place in my local woods.’
Another walker, Gavin Walbank, said: Lockdown caused lots of people to get dogs without any actual thought given to training, walking etc. Unfortunately dog fouling is a massive issue and its cause is irresponsible owners.’
