Why this moisturiser has been voted best in Australia by 100,000 women

Every major skincare company makes claims of selling the richest, most hydrating and worthwhile moisturiser to reverse the ageing process.

But none other than Australian made Lala Retro Whipped Cream by Drunk Elephant can brag about being voted the best in the nation.

And after more than 100,000 votes, this was their favourite moisturiser.

The most expensive skincare product in the awards, the product is designed for those in search of a ‘deeply nourishing, restorative cream’.

Enriched with marula oil, hyaluronic acid and a number of beneficial African oils, this cream is ‘inspired by the face creams your grandmother would have used’ with a contemporary twist.

The creamy texture ensures instant hydration without heaviness while the oils work to heal, renew and promote firmness, density and elasticity.

‘It’s like an angel gently kissing your face. The texture and consistency of Lala is truly to die for. I have oily skin and although I do love the feel of oils on my face, the light and airy whipped texture of this cream makes it ideal for both morning and night for me,’ one reviewer wrote.

Another was quick to mention the pot itself and how ingeniously it’s made.

‘Firstly, the pump jar is great. This keeps the ingredients and actives fresh for longer and it’s more hygienic. No need to stick my germ-infested fingers into the tub,’ a repeat customer said.

The only negative aspects to the moisturiser listed online were surrounding the size of the pot, which is 50ml and that it can cause breakouts on the forehead and flakey skin for some users

‘The moisturiser itself has no obvious scent. Texture is thick, creamy and feels quite greasy. However, once it fully absorbs the greasiness goes away.

‘It took about five minutes to completely absorb into my skin. I’ve used it underneath sunscreen and makeup and I didn’t feel like I had layers of products on my skin.

‘In fact, my skin was less oily in the t-zone and looked and stayed hydrated throughout the day. And for that I’m majorly impressed.’
