Wideo emerges of AFL star Jesse Hogan stumbling around in his underwear and a Santa suit

Footage has emerged of embattled AFL star Jesse Hogan dancing in his underwear and a Santa suit just days after after he was dropped for the first game of the season.

The 24-year-old forward was dropped from the Fremantle Dockers’ season opener against North Melbourne after turning up to training on Sunday morning in an unfit state to play.

Hogan, 24, was the Western Australian club’s star recruit for 2018, with the club having given up a number of draft picks to secure his signature from the Melbourne Demons.

In a press conference on Monday, Fremantle’s football manager Peter Bell revealed Hogan had made ‘poor alcohol decisions’ and was battling ‘clinical anxiety’.

The Santa footage, which Daily Mail Australia understands is unrelated to his recent suspension, shows Hogan at a house party with his pants wrapped around his ankles and an unlit cigarette in his right hand.

Shocking footage has emerged of embattled AFL star Jesse Hogan stumbling around in his underwear and a Santa suit. He was dropped after turning up to training on Sunday in an ‘unfit’ state after a night of drinking

When the man filming shouts out his name and asks him to say something to the camera, Hogan replies: ‘Don’t put that on your Snap(chat) story, c***’.

Hogan’s friend intervenes with, to which Hogan says ‘thank you’ and returns to dancing in front of a group of friends slumped on a couch.

It’s unclear when or where the footage was taken and Daily Mail Australia has gone to the Dockers for comment.

Fremantle GM Peter Bell outlined the reasons for Hogan’s indefinite suspension ahead of the Perth side’s Round One clash with North Melbourne.

‘The players are very clear, we would prefer the night before a training session players make responsible decisions about what their consumption is.’

‘At the appropriate moment, a glass of wine with your partner or your family might be OK if you’re not injured.

‘But Jesse made poor decisions with regards to alcohol, and for that reason he will be unavailable this week.’

Bell said Hogan’s commitment to the team was not in question and he was a hard worker on the field, but poor decisions had caused him grief.

‘Jesse continues to train very hard on the training track and he will continue to train with the team, but his clinical anxiety can lead to him making poor decisions around alcohol consumption and, therefore, impact his health and wellbeing,’ he said.

‘The club has been aware of Jesse’s clinical anxiety and has wrapped the appropriate support measures around him and will continue to do so.’

Hogan is believed to be on a $900,000-a-year at Fremantle.

In April 2017, Hogan was granted time to travel back to Perth a for a ‘family issue’ and his father passed away weeks later after a long battle with cancer.

The following month, Hogan was diagnosed with testicular cancer, which was in the earliest stage of growth and he will not need chemotherapy.

‘Jesse underwent an ultrasound late last week which revealed a small mass in his testicle suggestive of a seminoma, which is a type of cancer,’ a club statement from the Melbourne Demons read at the time.

His father’s death and Hogan’s own cancer diagnosis occurred just weeks after he was seen smoking a cigarette at Perth festival Hot Dub Wine Machine while on suspension for an off-the-ball hit on Carlton defender Sam Rowe.

He had struck Rowe during during an incident-filled match that also saw Hogan’s teammate Jordan Lewis fracture Patrick Cripps’ jaw, resulting in a three-match ban.

‘Over the past few months, Jesse has been dealing with the deterioration of his father’s health and the club took the opportunity, with him being suspended, to give him three days away from the club over the weekend,’  Melbourne football manager Josh Mahoney said at the time.

‘He decided to use this opportunity to return to Perth to get some time away. Whilst we don’t condone Jesse’s actions captured in the vision, the club will continue to support Jesse through this very difficult time.’

The Santa footage, which was posted to the AFL Banter Facebook page shortly after the key forward was stood down, has drawn mixed reaction online.

‘Seriously leave the guy alone, no one knows what he’s going through and plus why can’t he have a bit of fun,’ one user wrote.

According to Radio 6PR football expert Brad Hardie, Hogan was dropped from his squad after damaging his ribs during an incident outside a pub on Saturday night.

‘Unfortunately there seems to have been some sort of incident at a venue down Mandurah, Peel way on late Saturday afternoon, early evening,’ Hardie said.

‘In the car park somehow Jesse sustained some rib injuries, so he won’t be playing Round One.

The recent suspension isn’t the first time Hogan has found himself making headlines after poor behaviour was caught on camera

‘There’s a bit of CCTV footage of it and at least one other Docker in attendance.

‘Not a good start for Fremantle if Jesse Hogan can’t front up on Sunday.’

The recent suspension isn’t the first time Hogan has found himself making headlines.

Hogan, who was 22 at the time, appeared to look worse for wear as he moshed with other revellers at the Hot Dub Wine Machine festival in Swan Valley, Perth.
