An 83-year-old woman appeared in court today charged with murdering an elderly man believed to be her husband after he was found stabbed to death.
Marjorie Grayson was arrested after Alan Grayson, 85, was pronounced dead following a stabbing at a home in the Handsworth area of Sheffield last Thursday.
Mr Grayson, who was said to have been married to Mrs Grayson for 60 years, died from a fatal stab wound after officers were called just before 9.45am.

Grayson appeared via video link at Sheffield Crown Court this morning and spoke to confirm her name, age and nationality.
The Recorder of Sheffield, Jeremy Richardson QC, described the case as ‘highly unusual’.
Grayson was remanded in custody and will next appear at Sheffield Crown Court on November 16 for a plea and case management hearing.
A trial, which is expected to last six days, has been set for March 5 next year.

Locals expressed their horror over finding out about Mr Grayson’s death, saying the couple had lived on the quiet residential street for more than 50 years.
A 57-year-old neighbour, who lived a few doors away, said the couple had lived there since before she was born and she had known them her entire life.
She described them as a ‘lovely couple’ who were ‘always together’ and could be regularly seen pottering about in the garden.
Mr Grayson had been an architect and Mrs Grayson worked at a local garage. They had two sons and a number of grandchildren.
