Wife shoots dead her husband and their eight-year-old son before turning gun on herself

A mother shot her husband and autistic eight-year-old son dead before turning the gun on herself, police believe.

Jenny Williamson, 49, was found dead in their home near Albany, Louisiana, on Monday morning alongside Steven Williamson, 49, and the boy Jio.

Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard said they were killed on Friday night or early Saturday morning at the remote house surrounded by woods.

A family member found the bodies when they came to the house after not being able to get hold of the couple.

Jio is believed to be the son of one of Jenny’s family members and she and her husband had custody of him. She also had two adult sons.

Photos shared online showed the couple taking Jio to Disney World, Dollywood, festivals, and dressing up for Halloween.

Jenny appeared to be a loving wife and mother with no signs of discontent on her social media.

‘I love you more than words can express,’ she wrote of her husband last August on his birthday, which was celebrated with Jio and two elaborate cakes.

Jenny also celebrated their wedding anniversary in February – only two years after their marriage despite being together for 21 years.

The family moved across the lake from near New Orleans in June last year, paying $293,000 for the three-bedroom house on West Bates Road.

Ard said there was no history of violence at the home.

‘This is horrible. I mean, this is something that you never want to see. I’m sure that everybody has questions,’ he said.

‘Any time you see these types of scenes, you believe something’s got to be going on in order for this to happen.’

Jenny was believed to be suffering from mental health issues, but police were unsure of anything specific.

The suspected murder-suicide is under investigation.
