Dramatic footage captured the moment a man was tackled to the ground during a citizen’s arrest after being accused of stealing tools and money.
The extraordinary incident unfolded on Moss Place at Westmead, in western Sydney, on Thursday.
A tradesman and a woman were seen in the video speaking heatedly to the alleged offender who was wearing a black hat and backpack.
The tradie blocked the alleged offender from walking away.
‘Don’t touch me c**t,’ the alleged offender said.
He then crossed the street with the tradie and woman following behind. The woman accused him of taking money.
‘I didn’t take nothing,’ he responded.
The tradie and woman took hold of the alleged offender, prompting another expletive-laden outburst.
The post uploaded to the SCN Worldstar Instagram account captured the entire incident, from when the alleged offender was held in a citizen’s arrest
The video showed the alleged offender being pinned to the ground
‘I don’t know him… look at me!’ he said.
Moments later the alleged offender was seen pinned to the ground with bystanders swarming to the spot.
‘I broke the fight up and this guy’s attacking me and jumping on me saying I’ve done all this s**t,’ he yelled.
‘I didn’t steal nothing… I didn’t do nothing.’
‘Settle down, wait until the police come,’ a male voice said off-camera.
‘Calm down,’ a woman in red added.
A scuffle broke out as the alleged offender tried to fight off the tradie who was sitting on top of him.
‘I’ve got a sore foot!’ he cried. ‘I’m gunna charge this mother****er man.’
‘Are you injured mate?’ the woman in red asked.
‘Yes,’ he replied.
The alleged offender explained that his foot was ‘injured already’.
He then took aim at the tradie claiming that if he was not injured he would not have let him take ‘s*** off me’.
Moments later the alleged offender was seen sitting upright on the road.
‘You’ve got nothin’ on camera,’ he said.
‘Shut up!’ the tradie yelled, prompting another foul-mouthed response from the alleged offender.
The alleged offender was questioned by a NSW Police officer
The alleged offender began insulting one of the women saying he had seen her in ‘the brothel’, and then threatened to lay assault charges.
He was later seen speaking to a police officer in front of an apartment block.
‘They’re saying I stole something,’ he said to the officer. ‘I’ve got an injured foot. I’ve stolen nothing. I’ve got a broken foot.’
A NSW Police spokesman said they were responding to reports a man ‘had entered a nearby vehicle and attempted to steal possessions before he fled’.
‘No arrests have been made; however inquiries are continuing.’
