A Tennessee man is taking his baby momma to court after he claimed she duped him into believing a little girl was his and forcing him to pay child support.
Brett Fairley, 27, of Nashville, Tennessee, posted a now-viral TikTok where he explained the woman, who he called Maria Nguyen, reportedly asked him to get her pregnant because she wanted a child and had ‘been unlucky in love.’
Nguyen, who he met in his hometown in Mississippi, told him he wouldn’t ‘have to bear any responsibility’ and could basically be a sperm donor, he claimed.
‘I first thought: “No,” but after some time to think about it, I thought it would be the right thing to do for someone struggling,’ he said in the video.
The pair signed an ‘iron-clad agreement,’ according to the 27-year-old. After she was successfully impregnated through intercourse, he went back to California, but his family stayed in contact with the soon-to-be mom and encouraged him to be in his daughter’s life.

Prior to his daughter’s birth, he got a tattoo of her middle name ‘love’ and flew home to be there for when she arrived, he said.
After the birth, he said Nguyen wanted to be a family and showed text messages between the pair, where she reportedly said: ‘I want to try and make this work with us being a family? Can we do that? I wanna be with you, Brett.’
He replied: ‘I’m sorry, but that isn’t what I want to do.’
‘That hurts,’ she replied.
Later on, she reached out to him about needing a place to stay for two months while she worked to get her own place and he allowed her to live in his Airbnb for ‘several months rent-free.’
Fairley, who flips houses for a living, came home frequently to visit with his daughter and was posted several times on Nguyen’s Facebook page, he showed in the video.
Things took a turn after Fairley declined to wear matching Halloween costumes one year and she ‘wouldn’t let me see my daughter for a while,’ he claimed in the video.
The distraught father had many arguments with his baby momma, who didn’t let him see his daughter at various points, like when he didn’t want to wear matching Halloween costumes and when he got a girlfriend
She eventually forced him to pay child support, which allowed him to see his daughter more often
He eventually moved to Nashville and at one point, drove 14 hours roundtrip to attend his daughter’s baptism, but Nguyen wouldn’t let him attend because he refused to see her the night before.
Following that, she asked for child support, forcing him to pay $10,000 up front and $750 a month after that.
This allowed him to start seeing his daughter regularly, but things changed once again once Fairley got a girlfriend, despite her having a boyfriend herself, he claimed.
‘When I offered Maria and my girlfriend to get to know each other so they’d be comfortable with my daughter being around, she immediately said no and called my girlfriend a word that rhymes with chore,’ he claimed in the video.
Recently, he claims to have taken two paternity tests, which came back as him having zero chance of being the father
Nguyen had wanted to be a family, he showed in texts. He claims she must have known she was pregnant prior to asking him to impregnate her
Nguyen then made a ‘public post’ calling Fairley a ‘deadbeat dad,’ claiming he hadn’t seen their daughter in weeks, despite the fact that he claims had the child days beforehand.
She also reportedly refused to allow the dad to spend Father’s Day with his daughter.
After all the hassle, Fairley recently found out his daughter isn’t actually his, he claimed, showing a paternity report that claims the child is ‘zero percent’ related to him.
‘I don’t know who the dad is, but I’ve had two paternity tests done and they both say [I’m not the father],’ he claimed in the five-minute video. ‘I believed Maria when she said I was the only possible father. The situation was weird, but I was always happy to be a dad.’
Fairley is now taking his baby momma to court and claims ‘a friends of her just gave me all the proof I needed’
‘Maria, I allowed you to paint me as the villain and you as the victim for years to keep peace,’ he said,’ but I hope you know the only victim here is your child,’ he concluded the video
He claimed the woman already knew she was pregnant when struck the deal with Fairley and the distraught father ‘didn’t think this was something someone would lie about.’
‘Maria, I allowed you to paint me as the villain and you as the victim for years to keep peace,’ he said,’ but I hope you know the only victim here is your child.’
He captioned the video: ‘See you in court, Maria.’
Fairley claims ‘a friends of her just gave me all the proof I needed.’
He also posted a video where the alleged Maria showed the crying mom claiming his paternity test collection data was taken on August 10, 2024 and that she had it. He then showed a video from his phone of his daughter playing on August 10.
DailyMail.com has contacted Fairley for comment. Nguyen appears to have deleted her social media pages.
