He’s just landed in London ahead of his role as hilarious new anchor Cord Hosenbeck for HBO’s Royal Wedding coverage.
And before jetting to the capital, Will Ferrell and his bumbling journalist alter-ego wowed the crowd with a song dedicated to Prince Harry and fiancee Meghan Markle on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday.
The comedy actor, 50, looked barely recognisable for the appearance alongside fellow Saturday Night Live alum Molly Shannon, 53, – as co-host Tisha Cattigan – as they belted out the amusing track against a Union Jack backdrop.
Dream team: Will Ferrell looked unrecognisable in a bald cap and glasses ahead of his HBO Royal Wedding gig as he performed a hilarious tribute to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle
Getting fully into character in a bald cap, ginger beard and red glasses, Will certainly looked the part in a grey suit and light blue buttoned shirt.
Molly looked ready for the royal wedding in her bright yellow ruffled dress and matching fascinatior as the pair discussed the upcoming nuptials in character.
While chatting about their royal research, the comedy pairing explained they had watched the Lifetime television movie Harry & Megan: A Royal Romance, which Molly enthused: ‘As a royal fanatic, I wish I could see it in a movie theatre!’

‘I thought it was a documentary, that’s how real it was,’ Will interrupted. ‘Why does Avengers: Infinity Wars have to be on every screen? Put Harry & Meaghan on.’
But it was Will and Molly’s humourous skit on stage that had the crowd in stitches, with host Jimmy goading the pair on stage to perform their song dedicated to the soon-to-be-married couple.
With help from house band The Roots, Will kicked off the song with: ‘Far often in fairy land where lords and ladies dance / there lived a sad and lonely prince who dreamed of true romance / from a land across the mighty sea / a lovely maiden came / And Meghan was her name.’
