Shakira will be shaking her hips on a brand new dance floor soon, as the singer is set to launch a dance challenge competition called Dancing with Myself.
The Colombian hitmaker, 44, is reported to be teaming up with NBC to create the series, of which she is also an executive-producer.
‘I’m excited to be a part of a dance competition that places such a high value on creative movement and how it translates into personal expression, not to mention how it contributes to a sense of community,’ the proud mom-of-two said.

The competition is inspired by social media dance challenges and contestants will be given a short amount of time to learn new dances designed by the show’s celebrity judges, including Shakira.
They will then be asked to perform them for a live audience.
The judges will provide feedback and the audience will decide who wins the cash prize.

In a press release Shakira stated, ‘I’ve personally been blown away by some of the talent I’ve seen thanks to people having access to their own platforms through social media.’
Shakira – real name Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll – went on to explain how important dance is in her own life.
‘Dance has been an incredibly potent force throughout my life, and I’m eager to show the world how transformative, empowering and fun it can be,’ she said.
The singer seems to be the perfect choice to lead the competition, as she’s famous for her iconic belly dancing moves.
In 2020 the Latin star showed off her skills as she took the stage at Super Bowl halftime show, where she teamed up with another dancing and singing sensation, Jennifer Lopez, for an epic performance.
