Recently, Willow weighed in to the ongoing conversation swirling around Hollywood about ‘nepo babies’ as the daughter of two A-list actors.
The singer made her acting debut at just 7 in father Will’s I Am Legend and she went platinum at just 10 years old with her hit song Whip My Hair.
During her cover story profile with Allure, while promoting her sixth studio album Empathogen, she admitted to having ‘insecurity.’
‘I definitely think that a little bit of insecurity has driven me harder because people do think that the only reason I’m successful is because of my parents,’ she explained.
‘That has driven me to work really hard to try to prove them wrong. But nowadays, I don’t need to prove s**t to anybody.
‘I truly believe that my spirit is a strong spirit and that, even if my parents weren’t who they were, I would still be a weirdo and a crazy thinker.’
Willow dropped her sixth studio album Empathogen in May this year.
She released the single Symptom Of Life in March in support of the album followed by Big Feelings in April.

In October, her mother Jada revealed that she and Will have been secretly separated for more than seven years, but had no plans to divorce.
While appearing on the Today Show, the actress told Hoda Kotb that they made the decision after feeling ‘exhausted with trying’ to work on their marriage.
‘I think we were both still stuck in our fantasy of what we thought the other person should be,’ she explained of what caused them to drift apart.
