Jack Wilshere was back in training as Arsenal held their final session on Saturday ahead of Sunday’s Premier League trip to face Brighton.

Wilshere missed Arsenal’s 3-0 league defeat to Manchester City with a minor ankle injury but the midfielder came through Saturday’s session unscathed and had plenty of fun in the process.

The 26-year-old soon got down to serious work, however, with Arsenal looking to bounce back from a run of three defeats, two of which were inflicted by City.

Arsenal face a major battle to secure a top four finish in the Premier League and cannot afford to drop any more points against Brighton.

Despite the difficult situation they find themselves in, Arsenal’s players seemed calm and relaxed during the session at London Colney.

Danny Welbeck was a notable absentee, while Nacho Monreal and Alexandre Lacazette remain sidelined.

Arsenal have been woeful in many of their Premier League away games this season, winning just three of 14 such fixtures, and they will be determined to take all three points against Brighton.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has received much criticism of late and it remains to be seen whether he will still be in charge of the club next season.

The Gunners are still reeling from being defeated by City in the Carabao Cup final last weekend but will now be looking to produce a more cohesive display.
