A ‘happy and healthy’ 42-year-old nurse was found dead in bed by her husband just six days after giving birth to their second child.
Precy Escalona, who is also a mother to seven-year-old son Elijah, was discovered by her husband Joel on Saturday morning when he went in to wake her up.
She was a nurse at Arrowe Park hospital, in Birkenhead, Wirral, and her colleagues described her as ‘energetic and caring’.
The cause of her death is still unknown. She had just given birth to Jake Nathaniel, who is now nine days old, earlier last week but was feeling fine.
The mother-of-two swapped the Philippines for Merseyside in 2003 before marrying her husband, Joel, in 2009.
The registered nurse and her new family then moved to Upton, a village in the Wirral.

Tributes poured in from heartbroken colleagues, who are rallying together to support the her family.
Kerry Howard told the Liverpool Echo : ‘She was an amazing nurse and an even greater person. So kind hearted and energetic, she deeply cared about each and every one of her patients.
‘We all feel at a bit of a loss at the minute and don’t even know where to begin to help her family but we are hoping to raise some money for her husband and little boys.’
