It was a brilliant night for English sides in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Manchester United remarkably came from a goal behind to beat Serie A giants Juventus 2-1 in Turin thanks to Juan Mata’s free-kick and a late own goal from Alex Sandro.
Meanwhile, United’s neighbours City eased to a 6-0 thrashing of Shakhtar Donetsk with Gabriel Jesus scoring a hat-trick at the Etihad.
Here, Sportsmail is on hand to run through the things you may have missed from yet another enthralling night of Champions League action…

JUVENTUS GO OTT IN THE WARM UP
Light displays have become a customary thing just moments before kick-off in Champions League games now.
However, it is an unfamiliar sight when the teams come out to warm up. And that’s exactly what happened ahead of Juventus’ home clash with United.
The Italian giants produced a visual treat for the crowd as the players came out onto the pitch.
And to make it even better, AC/DC’s popular Thunderstruck song was blurted out on the loud speakers.

OUCH… THAT’S GOT TO HURT!
Juventus star Paulo Dybala picked up an injury in the warm up on Wednesday but not how you may have imagined.
Wojciech Szczesny, while practicing his clearances in the build up to the game, accidentally hammered a ball straight into Dybala’s head.
The ball rocketed into the Argentine, who fell to the floor in agony straight away. Dybala received treatment on the turf before getting back up and showing his frustrations with Szczesny.
But the former Arsenal goalkeeper made everything better by planting a kiss on his team-mates sore head. Not that Dybala would have appreciated that…

JUVENTUS FANS SHOW THE LOVE FOR PAUL POGBA
Juventus’ home support displayed their admiration for the returning Paul Pogba prior to kick-off in Turin.
Pogba left for United in 2016 for a then world-record move of £89million but things haven’t gone to plan for the French midfielder at Old Trafford.
His move at the time was met with plenty of excitement following his fine form at the Italian giants during the years of 2012-16, which saw him win four consecutive Serie A titles.
And Juventus fans haven’t forgotten his brilliant services. One supporter unveiled a banner pre-match that read: ‘J’ADORE PAUL LABILE POGBA’.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU…
Rio Ferdinand had a birthday to remember in the BT Sport studios on Wednesday evening.
The former Manchester United and England defender celebrated his 40th birthday before going on air ahead of the evening’s highly anticipated Champions League fixtures.
And he was treated to a huge cake – which he showed off on Twitter, alongside the caption: ‘Feeling the Birthday Love today… the Big 40! Thanks to the BT Sport team for my cake & everyone’s messages today… really appreciate it! Now Time for Work… come on Man Utd’.
And Ferdinand certainly got his wish thanks to United’s brilliant comeback in Turin.

ALEX SANDRO TOYS WITH JESSE LINGARD
Alex Sandro left Jesse Lingard red-faced during the first half of the Champions League clash.
The left back has been linked with Chelsea and United themselves in previous transfer windows and he caught the eye once again on Wednesday.
The Brazilian brilliantly nutmegged Lingard with ease much to the delight of the home crowd and non-United supporters.
CSKA GO 1 NIL UP… OH WAIT!
It is fair to say BT Sport didn’t have the best of moments during Roma’s tight affair with CSKA Moscow.
After the Serie A outfit went ahead in the fourth minute through Kostas Manolas, BT Sport’s scoreboard read CSKA 1-0 Roma.
Oopsy. Fortunately it was quickly changed but those eagle-eyed viewers were quick to notice the error… just like us lot here.

POOR POOR POOR FRANCO CERVI
Benfica’s Franco Cervi had a moment to forget during their 1-1 Champions League draw with Ajax.
In the sixth minute at the Estadio da Luz on Wednesday, Cervi got ready to whip in a left-footed corner.
However, he ended up slipping when he made contact with the ball before it ricocheted off his right foot and straight out of play for a goal-kick. Poor guy.

AJAX FANS VS RIOT POLICE
It was an eventful night of football at the Estadio da Luz and it was no different in the stands.
Ajax came from behind to earn a 1-1 draw at Benfica thanks to Dusan Tadic but their fans didn’t have the greatest of nights.
A section of the travelling support were seen clashing with the riot police at Benfica’s stadium on Wednesday prior to kick-off.
