Woke media hall monitor Brian Stelter gets new job at Harvard

Woke media hall monitor Brian Stelter gets new job at the Harvard as a fellow – just three weeks after he was fired by CNN

  • Brian Stelter will join Harvard as a fellow at the Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics and Public Policy at Harvard’s Kennedy School this fall
  • According to Harvard, Stelter will be convening discussions with experts about threats to democracy and how the media can meet them
  •  Stelter was canned from CNN last month amidst a shakeup from the networks new CEO, Christ Licht, who wants to move the away from partisan punditry

Former CNN woke wonder boy Brian Stelter has landed a fellowship at Harvard, mere weeks after he was ousted from the news network amidst a staff shakeup.

Stelter dropped the news on his Twitter account, announcing he was joining the Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics and Public Policy at Harvard’s Kennedy School this fall as its Walter Shorenstein Media and Democracy Fellow.

‘This fall I’ll be the Walter Shorenstein Media and Democracy Fellow,’ he wrote, ‘convening discussions, some of which will be live-streamed. Grateful to @nancygibbs and her team for the home!’

In a release, Harvard said Stelter’s discussions would concern ‘threats to democracy and the range of potential responses from the news media,’ and follow a format not unlike his cancelled CNN show Reliable Sources, saying the talks will include ‘media leaders, policy makers, politicians, and Kennedy School students, fellows, and faculty.’

The release also described Stelter as ‘a nationally recognized media reporter and expert on the state of journalism and its wide-reaching implications for society and governance.’

Walter Shorenstein fellows typically hold the position for one semester to a year. It is unclear how long Stelter’s will last, or whether he will be compensated for the position.

Stelter was purged from CNN last month as a part of a major shakeup from the network’s new CEO, Chris Licht, who has vowed to move programming away from partisan punditry to objective journalism.

Besides Stelter, those to meet the axe have included stalwart commentator Jefferey Toobin and longtime White House correspondent John Hardwood, both of whom were suddenly and unceremoniously dismissed in recent weeks.

Licht, who took the helm at CNN in February, has made it clear more changes are on the way.

‘I want to acknowledge that this is a time of significant change, and I know that many of you are unsettled,’ Licht told his staff, according to a report by The Hollywood Reporter, ‘There will be more changes, and you might not understand it or like it.’

Many have speculated that longtime and loudly left-leaning anchor Don Lemon could be the next to go.

Ratings for Stelter’s Reliable Sources’ began to falter in recent years, with its viewership plummeting to half of that of its Fox News rival, MediaBuzz.

MediaBuzz averaged 1.5 million viewers this year while Reliable Sources had its worst year since 2015 with 787,000 viewers.

It shed 34 percent among the 25-54 age range, and 31 percent in the 18-49 demographic.

Before blasting Stelter on Friday, Trump continued his ongoing tirade against the FBI, which he continued to call a ‘witch hunt.’

‘When will people realize that the atrocities being perpetrated by the FBI and DOJ having to do with the Raid and Break In of my home, Mar-a-Lago, or after years of other atrocities and unthinkable violations of freedom and the law, this has been going on for years, from the moment I came down the golden escalators in Trump Tower, right up until the present,’ he wrote.

‘The law enforcement of our Country has become that of a Third World Nation, and I do not believe the people will stand for it.’
