Wolves are feeling confident about signing Atletico Madrid forward, Matheus Cunha, after holding more positive talks with the LaLiga giants today.

The two clubs are discussing a potential £40million loan deal for the 23-year-old, who won a gold medal with Brazil at the 2020 Olympic Games.

A move to Wolves would see Cunha leave the Spanish capital just 15 months after he signed for the LaLiga side.

Cunha signed for Atletico in August 2021 but is expected to leave after just 15 months with the LaLiga giants as he’s struggled to cement a place in Dieogo Simeone’s team.

During his time at the club, Cunha has scored seven goals in 54 appearances, though several of his minutes have been substitute appearances.

Cunha is eager to get more minutes under his belt and believes a loan deal with Wolves could afford him that opportunity.

Wolves will be back in action later today when they face Gillingham in the last-16 of the Carabao Cup at the Molineux Stadium.

Wolves will also get back underway in the Premier League on Boxing Day when they play against Everton at Goodison Park.
