A 29-year-old woman documented the heartwarming sleepover she had with her 92-year-old grandfather — who asked her to bring over strawberry ice cream and watch movies with him because he wasn’t feeling well.
Megan Elizabeth, 29, grew up across the street from her grandparents in Illinois, and even lived with them for a time.
Since her grandmother died of Alzheimer’s a few years ago, her grandpa has been alone and his health has been declining, so Megan has been spending as much time with him as possible.
When he recently texted her asking if she’d spend the night, Megan jumped at the chance.
‘Watch how cute my 92 year old [sic] grandpa is when I come over for a sleep over and bring him strawberry ice cream and watch movies with him,’ she wrote on TikTok.

He recently texted her to say he hasn’t been feeling well and invited her for a sleepover. She jumped at the chance
Megan shared the text messages in a pair of viral TikTok videos.
‘Hi Megan it’s grandpa,’ her grandfather wrote. ‘Would you like to come over and have a sleepover? I haven’t been feeling well and miss you. We can order food and watch a mystery show. Love, grandpa.’
‘Yes! I’ll be over around 7!’ she replied. ‘Would you like me to get you something from the store or anything for dinner?’
‘Could you pick up applesauce? ‘ he wrote back. ‘The cinnamon kind. And if you go somewhere with mash potatoes, I would like that because I have no teeth and can only eat soft things. Ha. Love you, Grandpa.’
‘Okay! I will see you soon,’ she answered.
‘Thank you. You are my favorite granddaughter,’ he wrote — to which Megan notes that she is his only granddaughter.
She also promised to pick up some groceries and strawberry ice cream for dessert
He followed up with more text: ‘Can you bring me strawberry ice cream too?’
Later that evening, Megan filmed herself walking up to his front door with the groceries and mashed potatoes from KFC.
While grandpa enjoyed his dinner, the cable network FETV played an old black-and-white TV show.
She also filmed her grandpa in pajamas, eating a strawberry ice cream cone in a chair.
‘I can’t get over how cute he is eating the ice cream cone,’ she wrote.
After they ate and watched TV, Megan said her grandpa ‘made my bed how he used to make it, when I was little with my favorite doll of my grandma’s (rest in peace). And gave me a flashlight “in case I got scared.”
She later filmed herself turning up to his house with the ice cream and mashed potatoes from KFC

Megan explained that her grandpa is ‘very sick and doesn’t have much time left,’ adding: ‘His health is declining so I take any opportunity to see him’

After her sleepover, she had to get up to go to work at 5:30 a.m., so her grandpa woke up ‘to wave goodbye to me and wish me a good day.’
Megan explained that her grandpa is ‘very sick and doesn’t have much time left,’ adding: ‘His health is declining so I take any opportunity to see him.’
‘I am thankful for my grandpa and he will never understand how much love he truly has shown me,’ she said. ‘And more importantly, the love he showed my grandma while she was alive. I believe in love and loyalty because of this man. He is my hero.’
