A university student in China attacked her schoolmates on campus with a fruit knife today, according to reports.
The woman yelled at passersby and chased after them while holding the weapon, according to a video on Chinese social media which is said to be filmed at the scene.
She was tackled by university staff and has been detained by the police. One female student was injured.

The incident took place in the morning local time at the Xi’an Eurasia University, a private university in the provincial capital of Shaanxi in north-west China.
The university has around 22,000 students and specialises in economy, arts and literature, according to its website.
The attacking student, unidentified, ran after a number of passersby before being brought under control by a few male staff.

A spokesperson from Xi’an Eurasia University told a reporter from The Paper that the attacker is a current student.
The spokesperson said the police are still looking into her motives.
One student, said to be female, sustained cuts on the chin during the incident. She was taken to the hospital and received stitches. She is said to have returned to the campus.
The attacker has been detained. Police officers from the Yanhuan Middle Road police station in Xi’an are investigating the case.
